The Team Everest Member goes home 100,000€ richer after winning the coveted event
Spain, November 30th 2009 – The second edition of the popular
Spanish Poker Tour came to a dramatic finish yesterday when Dutch poker
pro Steven 'Viktor' van Zadelhoff won the final of the SPT in Costa
Meloneras, Canary Islands (Spain).
A member of Everest Poker's Team Everest, Steven used his five years
of poker knowledge and practice to beat fellow opponent Rob Sherwood of
the UK in a nail biting head's up final on Sunday November 29th,
pocketing 100,000€.
"The SPT is a fantastic event" he commented after his win. "A great
structure, a great location and I couldn't have been happier to win the
Grand Finale which had some of the toughest opponents around. This
really wasn’t just the luck of the Dutch!"
The Spanish Poker Tour Final which is sponsored by Everest Poker,
attracted around 100 players from across Europe to the Gran Casino
Costa Meloneras in the Spanish Canary Isles. Several well known poker
faces including poker pro Pablo Ubierna from Spain and Team Everest
members Maria Maceiras, Fabrice Soulier, Antoine Saout, Voitto Rintala
and Cristiano Blanco all pitted their wits to win the Final event.
Poker's renowned tournament director Thomas Kremser and TK Events
provided the structure and direction of the event which had a 300,000€
guaranteed prize pool, however this year's event was made even more
spectacular through live streaming available on the Everest Poker blog
and commented on by notable poker experts.
The whole tournament was filmed exclusively for Everest Poker and will be broadcast in Spain in 2010.
