That’s right. Our low-risk Chip and a Chair tournaments give every player the chance to become a tournament winner. For a $1 buy-in, you get the only two things you actually need to win a poker tournament: a chip and a chair at a poker table. And because Chip and a Chair tournaments typically draw a lot of players, they often offer a large prize pool.

These exciting tournaments are low-risk and you will gain valuable experience—especially if you’re a poker novice or new to multi-table tournaments. Not only will you get used to playing against many other poker players at once, but multi-table tournaments can expose you to a wide variety of player strategies and styles of play—people tend to play differently with money, even a single dollar, than with tokens or with free chips.

To find a Chip and a Chair tournament, go to the Poker Lobby and look in the Scheduled Tournaments section. You’ll see that some tournaments are labeled “Chip and a Chair” and display a $1+0 buy-in. Just register for one of these tournaments and you’ll be in the running. Payouts are based on the total number of tournament participants, so the more players, the bigger the prize pool and the more places paid.
