Julien Claudepierre
Like many young players, Julien discovered poker through the film Rounders. “I fell in love with the poker universe, and I wanted to find out everything about the game.” His desire for more information led him to Everest’s play money tables, which quickly led to him grinding away at the micro-stakes Bangkok tables ($.01/$.02).
Only a few years later, Julien is now one of the most well-known and well-respected players in not only the French-speaking, but the entire Everest Poker community. The recent graduate of one of France’s top-ranked and highly-competitive engineering programs also worked as an intern for the online poker school Deuces Cracked in New York City.
“I loved living in New York for three months, but it was also very rewarding to spend so much time around world-class poker players.”
In addition to numerous live tournaments in his native France, Julien has played in both the WSOP and the WPT Marrakesh and can often be found at the NLHE 6-max and Heads Up tables, as well working on his Pot-Limit Omaha game.
“In 2010, I want to make the successful transition from being a solid cash game player to becoming a formidable opponent in live tournaments around the world.
Always fine tuning his strategy, Julien is confident the strength of his game at the cash tables only serves to help him during the early and mid-level stages of deep stack tournaments. But he sees the Live the Dream Team as not only a way to increase his presence in the poker world, but also as the ideal means to further his poker education.
“I feel we can learn from each other, and the Team’s tournament players can teach me so much, just as they can also benefit from my strengths and knowledge,” he says. “I have the desire and the dedication to play and beat the toughest games, and I am thrilled about the new opportunities now open to me as a sponsored player with the best poker network.
