Choosing a Hold 'em Poker Table

Once you've used the online Holdem Poker Training Room to get acquainted with game controls and flow of play, your next step is to choose a Poker table. The Everest Poker software makes it easy to find a poker table suited for your skill level and bankroll.

The Lobby window is arranged to help you easily find a Hold 'em Poker table and take a seat, so let's start there. Here are the steps in brief:

  • Choose between Omaha or Texas Holdem
  • Choose Real Money Poker, Summit Points Poker, or Free Play Poker
  • Choose between Ring Games or Tournament Play
  • Choose a Limit Type (No Limit/Pot Limit, Fixed Limit)
  • Choose Stakes (pennies to dollars)
  • Choose Table Size (2, 6 or 10 players)
  • Optional: Check Table Details (player overview and waiting list)
  • Go to Selected Poker Table

What is the difference between Free Play Poker, Summit Points Poker, and Real Money Poker?

Free Play uses "fun chips" that have no monetary value - they're just a way of keeping score while you play at our online poker tables. Everest Poker supplies its players with 200 Free Play chips at a time. To reload your Free Play fun chips, simply click on the Cashier button on the Lobby, and Get Chips underneath the red Free Play section.

NOTE: To reload your Free Chips, you must have less than 200 free chips available. Free chips can be reloaded once every 60 minutes.

Summit Points are similar to fun chips, but differ in that they are given to players based on the players' involvement within the Everest Poker software. To find out more information on Everest Poker Summit Points, visit our promotions page.

Real Money Play is just that - you will be using chips that have monetary value. To play Texas or Omaha Hold 'em Poker for Real Money you must make a deposit to fund your account (click Cashier in the Lobby control panel to make a deposit).

The Free Play, Summit Points, and Real Money selection buttons are located in the upper right hand corner of the lobby. These buttons determine the type of Holdem Poker tables shown in the Table List. For example, when Real Money Poker is selected, all tables listed will be Real Money Poker tables.

To help differentiate play style, Real Money Poker tables are green, Summit Points tables are gold, Free Play Poker tables are red, and Training tables are blue.

Choose Your Game. Next you will select the type of Holdem Poker game you want to play. The game tabs at the upper left hand corner of the lobby determine the type of tables shown. For example, when Hold'em is selected, all of the tables listed will be Texas Holdem ring games.

Want to pick up the pace? Everest Poker offers Speed and No Disconnect Bet Protection (No DBP) tables to accelerate game play.

  • Speed Tables offer a 15-second decision timer within which to act. Any poker player who doesn't act before time runs out will be presumed to fold or, when possible, to check. There will also be no Disconnect Bet Protection at these tables.
  • No DBP tables have the same decision timers as Everest Poker's regular tables with the exception of no Disconnect Bet Protection.

At this point, you have a choice between two approaches for getting to an online holdem poker table. The traditional approach is to search through our List of Available Poker Tables to find one that suits your needs and has an open seat. The alternative is to create a Custom List to define the poker table you want and then have our system rearrange the Table List for you.
