End of day 1 of the Spanish Poker Tour Valencia

Today, day 1 ended of the SPT. We started with 195 players and we are now down to 105 players.

Tomorrow the tournament will start on 16.00 CET and you can watch our livestream and follow the action of day 2.

We still have lots of famous/ familiar faces in the tournament like:
Steven van Zadelhoff (Team Everest), Live the Dream players Leo Truche and Tobias Wagner, Tim van der Zwet (final table 3LT Warnemunde), Cristiano Blanco (Team Everest), Catarina Santos and Sijbrand Maal (Belgium Champion 2008.

Laura Cantero & Sigurd Eskeland

Laura Cantero did a great job during the SPT Castellon where she reached the final table with her aggressive style. Today it wasn't her day at the SPT Valencia. She showed up in a nice 'school uniform' but we lost her in the 6th level with 99 versus QQ. We hope to see her back in November at the next stop of the Spanish Poker Tour 2010!

Sigurd Eskeland busted! "I played bad I think, two pots in a row. I made the wrong decisions. I hate busting." His exit hand 9Ts vs QQ. "I was playing really well today, without getting good hands but I made big mistakes in the last two hands." Sigurd, our Live the Dream player who won a bracelet in a 8 game WSOP event, will go home tomorrow. "But I will be back!".

"An older guy limped and I raised 88, he calls and the flop shows 78T with two clubs. He checks and calls my bet. The turn is a 4 of clubs and he check raises me all in. I was committed and had to call. He showed KQ of clubs and no help for me on the river. Now I'm going to have some drinks in Valencia. Tomorrow we have a new chance in the 300 euro side event."

Pablo Ubierna: trips vs trips
We lost our Friend of Everest Poker, Pablo Ubierna. A Dutch player busted him with AQ versus the A4 of Pablo Ubierna. On an AAx flop both players went all in.

Tim van der Zwet from the Netherlands, is running hot! He's bullying around his table and his stack is growing every orbit. He already did a great job during the 3LT Warnemuende where he made it to the final table.

Fourth stop SPT Valencia started!

The fourth stop of the third season of the Spanish Poker Tour started this evening in Valencia. Players from all around the world traveled to this beautiful city in Spain to play the 1000 euro tournament.
