With just 8 Big Blinds Maria started in Day3 of the European Poker Tour by PokerStars in Vienna. She pushed all her remaining chips with KQ and lost against the Big Blind holding AQ. Maria takes home 8.000 Euro and another good result this year. Congratulations!
We are in Level 15, Blinds 2k/4k and with 81 players remaining we are getting close to the bubble. A total of 80 players will be payed at least 8.000 Euro. Unfortunately both Fabien and Sigurd busted a couple of minutes ago. Fabien was holding JTs in the Big Blind when the player in the Small Blind raised. After a call he reshoved the c-bet of his opponent on a J-high flop. His opponent was holding pocket Kings and knocked Fabien out. Sigurd was very unlucky when he pushed all-in with his remaining 10 Big Blinds and pocket Aces. He lost against a pair of 9's which hit another 9 on the board. Our last remaining Team Everest player is Maria Maceiras with about 50k chips after she lost half her stack on a flip with pocket 3's against A9o. Let's cross fingers for Maria!
Update: We are down to 80 players and Maria is in the money! She has 38.000 left and will come back tomorrow for Day3. Blinds will be 2.5k/5k and a running ante of 500.
Unfortunately Julien Claudepierre and Francesco de Vivo are out of the EPT by PokerStars in Vienna. On the other hand Sigurd Eskeland, Maria Maceiras and Fabien Perrot are above 100k in chips.
Notable hands:
Sigurd open-raised with pocket 10s and got called by one guy. On a Queen high flop with two spades Sigurd made a continuation bet and got check-raised by his opponent. After a call from Sigurd and kind of a blank on the turn his opponent moved all-in with more than pot-size. Sigurd taked a bit and finally catched the bluff of his opponent holding a flush draw and a gutshot. Sigurd won a pot of about 80k!
Maria open-raised with a pair of 8s and got 3 callers. The flop with Q85 made Maria a set and after her c-bet one guy moved all-in with two pair holding 85. Maria called and doubled up to more than 100k
Fabien was a bit lucky today. After the loss of a big pot he moved all in with 83s from the Small Blind with about 12 Big Blinds. The Big Blind called with AK but Fabien hit the 8 on the flop and doubled up. Later on he was all-in again with AQ vs. AK and could double up again. After a series of bad beats in the last couple of tournaments Fabien deserves to stay in the tournament with now 115k.
It's the end of Day 1b at the European Poker Tour by PokerStars in Vienna and all of our Everest players move into Day 2. Maria Maceiras could double up with AK vs. QQ and ist back on track with more than 50k. Other chipcounts: Sigurd Eskeland (80k), Fabien Perrot (50k), Julien Claudepierre (32k), Francesco de Vivo (35k). We will be back tomorrow at noon with the next updates. Have a good night!
Right before the dinner break started Sigurd could double up. He 3bet a guy with AKs and shoved to a 4bet. His opponent tanked a bit and finally called with KJs and got no help from the board. Sigurd now has 62k chips, next blinds are 300/600 and a running ante of 75. Fabien had a little bit of bad luck when he moved allin with AQ vs. KQ on a QQ92 board as the 2 on the river caused a split pot instead of a 40k win for Fabien. Francesco is also doing good with 50k , same with Julien who is playing 41k. Maria is a little bit card dead and down to 20k but looking for a good spot to chip up.
Francesco de Vivo
Fabien Perrot
Our Everest players are doing a good job at the European Poker Tour by PokerStars in Vienna. Fabien Perrot (55k) and Julien Claudepierre (53k) from France almost doubled the starting stack of 30.000 chips. Francesco de Vivo also has a nice stack of 45k followed by Sigurd Eskeland (28k) and Maria Maceiras (25k).
Notable hands:
Fabien open-raised AKs and called the 3bet of David Benjamin in position. On the flop with A69 David made a continuation bet and Fabien called. No action on the turn and after a check from David on the river Fabien made a value bet of 5.5k. David called and mucked his hand afterwords.
Francesco called a raise with TT and hit his set on a QT2 flop. His opponent did bet the flop and the turn which Francesco first just called and then raised. His opponent did not give up and did not only call the raise from Francesco but also the river bet. Francesco showed his trips and his opponent mucked his hand.
Sigurd was in a tough spot right before the break. He 3bet and a call with KK and both opponents called out of position. The flop was TT2 and after two checks Sigurd c-bet about half the pot. The initial raise called and the second guy went all in for about 30k (!). Sigurd had to fold and the other guy tanked for a couple of minutes and open folded AT giving his opponent a full house.
Day 1b of the European Poker Tour by PokerStars started and we have a total of 5 Everest players in the field: Maria Maceiras, Francesco de Vivo, Sigurd Eskeland, Fabien Perrot and Julien Claudepierre.
Here are the table draws:
Table 7: Sigurd Eskeland, Berry Daniel Hertogs, Sergey Lebedev, Peyman Luth, Marc Klein, Ondrej Goerz, Aleksey Timashkov
Table 12: Maria Maceiras, Lothar Walter Meier, Tom-Aksel Bedell, Peter Hanusch, Franz Pejcl, Boris Becker, Hiem Nguyen
Table 16: Fabien Perrot, Marc Jaques Zaicik, David Benjamin, Patrick Gaillardo, Martin Finger, Angel Guillen, Andras Viczian, Paul Kristoffersson
Table 20: Francesco De Vivo, Dennis Goebel, Tomer Berda, Daniel Walter, Umberto Vitagliano, Dan-Ionut Hila
Table 33: Julien Claudepierre, Frederik Jensen, David Hochheim, Andrea Benelli, Christian Friedrich, Stelyan Georgiev, Kaspars Renga
Cristiano was waiting for a hand to push all in and double up. Finally he found A7o in the highjack position and shoved with about 15 Big Blinds. The Big Blind had KQ and called. Flop: Q-6-6 and no help for Cristiano on turn and river...
Cristiano Blanco lost two big pots within a couple of minutes holding Queens twice. In the first hand his opponent had two Kings and there was a lot of betting/raising action on a very dry board. In the second hand he had to give up the pot on a AK5 flop against two opponents. Cristiano is down to 15k with blinds 150/300 and a running ante of 25. His table got broken now so he needs to adapt his game again. Meanwhile Live the Dream player Francesco de Vivo arrived at the Palace and is crossing fingers for Christiano.
Update:
The last two hours Cristiano was totally card dead and could not accumulate any chips. With about 10k chips left he is having a 90 minute dinner break. Hopefully Cristiano will be back with more energy and cards will change to his favor.
The European Poker Tour sponsored by PokerStars is back in Vienna and will be held in the Kursalon Palace in the City Park. A total of five Team Everest will attend the 5.300 Euro main event which starts today at noon. Cristiano Blanco will play Day 1a. Tomorrow is going to be the day of Maria Maceiras, Sigurd Eskeland, Julien Claudepierre and Francesco de Vivo. We wish our players all the best and good luck!

We are happy to present you Tobi's latest blog article:
Tobestar11: "After being on the road playing poker tournaments for the last two months I will be home in Nuremberg for some time now. During this time I was not able to exercise my usual sports pensum. Getting my body and my mind ready for the big event in December I have set up a work out plan for the upcoming weeks. One of my favorite sports is basketball, so this will be one of the key sports in my training schedule. I am planning to shoot balls at least 3 or 4 times a week.

Furthermore swimming is up there on the agenda at least once a week and various work outs. All this should work to shape my body and to be all fresh-minded at the Grand Finale of the 3 Laender Poker Tour in Vienna."

Do it like Tobi and qualify for the Grand Finale of the 3 Laender Poker Tour. Direct Entries are played every Monday and Wednesday on www.everestpoker.com
Everest Poker's Live the Dream Team is heading back to the city where it all began
Last week our Live the Dream player Tobias Wagner has shipped his package to the 3LT Finale Vienna in one of Everest Poker's Direct Entries. He has already played the first two stops of the 3 Laender Poker Tour - time to make a cash at the Grand Finale of the tour.

195 enthusiastic poker players from across Europe gathered in the brand new Casino de Valencia for the fourth stop of the 2010 Spanish Poker Tour.
Many of Europe’s top players were among those battling it out for the €185,280 prize pool, including Team Everest’s Steven van Zadelhoff —2009 SPT Champion and Catarina Santos – winner of the 2010 SPT Aranjuez. Other notables in Valencia were Pierluca Salassa — winner of the 3LT Warnemünde Beach and recent WSOP bracelet winner, the Live the Dream Team’s Sigurd Eskeland.
But it was the Dutch who made the biggest splash in Spain. While it was not unlikely to have Holland represented at the final table with 30 Dutch players in attendance, the Dutch dominated the event and finished 1–2–3 in Valencia.
A big congratulations goes out to our 2010 SPT Valencia Champion, Koen Berendsen (NL). Winning his first-ever SPT event, Koen cashed €61,200. Joining him on the Dutch stage were the runner-up, Rene van Damme (€31,800) and third place finisher Tim van der Zwet (€18,500), who continues his ITM streak after finishing fourth at last month’s 3LT Warnemünde Beach.
The fourth place finisher was our own Live the Dream player, France’s Leonard Truche (€13,740).

Now in its third season, the SPT is fast becoming one of Europe’s most popular poker tours, taking players to the most beautiful destinations throughout Spain. After the huge success of Valencia, the excitement is building up for this season’s fifth stop in Sevilla on November 5–7, 2010.
At every SPT stop, Everest Poker guarantees a prize pool of at least €150,000. Each SPT Main Event features a fantastic deep structure with 60-minute levels and at starting stack of 15,000 chips.
Online qualifications are open now for the upcoming SPT Sevilla. With daily satellites and three weekly Direct Entries starting at $30, there are numerous ways to become the new SPT Champion online at Everest Poker. Players may also buy in directly to any SPT event using their Summit Points or Everest bankroll.

And we lost Catarina Santos, she was very short the whole day and now...she's gone! She lost KQ vs 77. That means we have only one Live the Dream player left, Leo Truche! He just doubled up and is in good shape again.

The 23 remaining players will play 'till we have the final table. Of course we will be back tomorrow with the live stream so please join in and become a fan of our Spanish Poker Tour Fanpage on Facebook! There you can write your comments. Everest Poker organizes a special token freeroll tomorrow at 19:30 GMT. If you want to know the password, please tune in with our livestream!

Current chip counts
At the moment we have 41 players, we started the SPT Valencia yesterday with 195 players.
Average chips: 71,300
Blinds: 800-1600
Ante 200
Catarina Santos (PT) 44,000 Team Everest
Tobias Wagner (GE) 45,000 Live the Dream player 2010
Leo Truche (FR) 75,000 Live the Dream player 2010
Arpad Balazs (HU) 130,000
Pierre Luca (IT) 40,000
Pawel Brzeski (PO) 98,000

5 Dutch players left in the Main Event, that sounds like a lot, but 30(!!) Dutchies started this SPT, the current chip counts:
Renee van Dam (NL) 111,000
Tim van der Zwet (NL) 180,000
Martijn van Driel (NL) 170,000
Jorrit van Wijk (NL) 50,000
Koen Berendse (NL) 70,000
Tim van der Zwet (the Netherlands) was down to 60k but managed to get back to 180k and that makes him the chip leader again. And he is celebrating it with a nice Spanish beer!
103 players started day 2 of the SPT Valencia. Like yesterday, we will broadcast the Main Event the whole day. If you like to give us some feedback or if you have information about the players that are playing at the feature table, please leave a message on the Facebook Fanpage. At the moment, the 75 players are playing the 500-1000 level. The total prize pool is over 180,000 EUR and the winner will take home 61,200 EUR.
Bust outs
Cristiano Blanco, our Italian Everest Poker player, is just busted. We also lost Valentin Messina in the early levels of day 2. Sijbrand Maal, the former Belgium Champion from the Netherlands, lost a crucial flip in level 7 and...is out. Another well known Dutch player, mister Haak, decided to go all in with JJ but his opponent was holding AA. Sometimes, poker is a battlefield!

Mister Haak in good shape earlier today.
But of course we have winners too!
Steven van Zadelhoff managed to double up with KQ vs A9. A couple of hands later, he wins with AK vs AQ. He's on the same table as Leo Truche, one of the French Live the Dream players. He has a stack above average, 45k. With blinds 500-1000 there's enough poker going on for him!

Steven van Zadelhoff and Leo Truche
International field
We see a lot of familiar faces, but also some new ones like Koiso from Japan! He qualified in Tokyo and is still in the tournament, good luck Koiso!

Players from all around the world!
Poker ladies!
Catarina Santos, our Portuguese Everest Poker player, already won the SPT Aranjuez (she was the first female player to win a SPT)and is now eager to win again! She is an established attorney in Portugal, but Catarina still finds time to dominate the tables online and in live tournaments throughout Europe.

Can she do it again?

Today, day 1 ended of the SPT. We started with 195 players and we are now down to 105 players.
Tomorrow the tournament will start on 16.00 CET and you can watch our livestream and follow the action of day 2.
We still have lots of famous/ familiar faces in the tournament like:
Steven van Zadelhoff (Team Everest), Live the Dream players Leo Truche and Tobias Wagner, Tim van der Zwet (final table 3LT Warnemunde), Cristiano Blanco (Team Everest), Catarina Santos and Sijbrand Maal (Belgium Champion 2008.
Laura Cantero did a great job during the SPT Castellon where she reached the final table with her aggressive style. Today it wasn't her day at the SPT Valencia. She showed up in a nice 'school uniform' but we lost her in the 6th level with 99 versus QQ. We hope to see her back in November at the next stop of the Spanish Poker Tour 2010!
Sigurd Eskeland busted! "I played bad I think, two pots in a row. I made the wrong decisions. I hate busting." His exit hand 9Ts vs QQ. "I was playing really well today, without getting good hands but I made big mistakes in the last two hands." Sigurd, our Live the Dream player who won a bracelet in a 8 game WSOP event, will go home tomorrow. "But I will be back!".
Nasty exit hand Julien Pouchain
Julien Pouchain, who won the last SPT in Castellon, busted in the first level with AA on a A T T flop, both players went all in and Juliens opponent showed TT for quads...

A.F. Haak next to Julien Pouchain
Koen de Bakker out
"An older guy limped and I raised 88, he calls and the flop shows 78T with two clubs. He checks and calls my bet. The turn is a 4 of clubs and he check raises me all in. I was committed and had to call. He showed KQ of clubs and no help for me on the river. Now I'm going to have some drinks in Valencia. Tomorrow we have a new chance in the 300 euro side event."

Pablo Ubierna: trips vs trips
We lost our Friend of Everest Poker, Pablo Ubierna. A Dutch player busted him with AQ versus the A4 of Pablo Ubierna. On an AAx flop both players went all in.
Chipleader?
Tim van der Zwet from the Netherlands, is running hot! He's bullying around his table and his stack is growing every orbit. He already did a great job during the 3LT Warnemuende where he made it to the final table.

The fourth stop of the third season of the Spanish Poker Tour started this evening in Valencia. Players from all around the world traveled to this beautiful city in Spain to play the 1000 euro tournament.

We just played two levels and have the first chip counts after the dinner break:

Catharina Santos 18k
Steven van Zadelhoff 20k
Leo Truche 21k
Sigurd Eskeland 16k
Fransesco de Vivo 3k
Javier Martinez 15k
Pablo Ubierna 9k
Yori Epskamp 24k
Jorrit van Wijk 31k
We play this tournament in the brand new casino of Valencia. 194 participants are now playing the third level with blinds 75-150, the levels last one hour. We will follow the action on this blog but you can also watch the action yourself on our live stream with commentary in Spanish and English.

Olaf Schimpf and Berbera van Teijlingen, EVP staff
We have a interesting line up right now on our feature table with Live the Dream player Tobias Wagner, former Belgium Champion and SPT winner Sijbrand Maal and Leo Truche, one of the French Live the Dream players.

Tobias Wagner combines live poker with online action!
We already lost some big names; Sven Polarski busted right after the dinner break with QQ vs AK and the winner of the SPT Castellon, Julien Pouchain, unfortunately didn't make it to the second level.
