After a very short heads up, Belgian Pierre Canart finished second in EPEC and also led Belgium to the win in the Team Challenge.
Tamás Csibri from Hungary finished 3rd in EPEC 2010 and is happy with his performance during the weekend.
Jesus Perez Tovar from Spain is a very happy 4th place finisher. Here he gives us his thoughts from the weekend and a greeting in Spanish.

All the money went in pre flop in the first hand after the break where Johansson had King-Eight against the Ace-Nine of Canart from Belgium. The flop came 764 and Canart was in good shape to double up. A king on turn changed everything in Johansson's favour and the river nine ended it all. We have a winner and Canart is probably also pretty pleased with finishing 2nd. Interviews to come.
We are on a very short break and the chip count is in the Swede Mikael Johansson's favour. He has 1,420,000 against Pierre Canart's 380,000, but anything can happen in poker.
Tamás Csibri from Hungary is eliminated in 3rd place as his King-Jack lost to Mikael Johansson's pocket eights. An interview with Tamás will be published soon here on the blog. We are now heads-up between Mikael Johansson in a nice lead against Pierre Canart from Belgium.
The blinds are really high right now and Perez went all-in from the button with Eight-Three and was called by Mikael Johansson on the big blind, holding Ace-Queen. The board came KQ8, T, 4 and Johansson eliminated Jesus Peres in 4th place earning €9,000.
We had a three-way all-in where Pierre Canart had Ace-Five against Jesus Perez with King-Nine and Mikael Johansson covering both players with Jack-Nine. The board came AK2, Q, 3 and Canart tripled to 230,000 and Perez won the 190,000 side pot. Johansson down to 650,000. In the hand after that, Canart was all-in again with pocket tens and was called by new chip leader Tamás Csibri with pocket Kings. Canart had the very dream flop, TT4 giving him four of a kind, and he doubled up again to 500,000.
Just after doubling Gael Seydoux up, Mikael Johansson got his revenge just one hand later. His King-Jack hit the flop J84 against Seydoux with Ace-Four. Turn and river didn't deliver the necessary ace for Seydoux and he goes home with €7,000 for his 5th place finish.
Mikael Johansson gets all-in with pocket Queens and is up against Ace-Nine of Gael Seydoux. No help for Gael on the flop, but an ace on turn gives him the lead an no queen on the river gives him the double up to 200,000. Johansson also doubled Perez up recently and has lost a lot of his chips, but still in the lead with 800,000.
Morten Kjaer Jensen finished 9th and Nuno Cardozo finished 7th here at EPEC 2010. Jensen wish he would have been more active, but Cardozo is overall super satisfied with the weekend.
Egi Adriaans went all-in with Ace-Four and was called by newly doubled up Jesus Perez. No help for Adriaans on the board and he finishes 6th earning €5,000.
We have come to a 15 minute break and Mikael Johansson now has around 1.1 million out of the total of 1.8 million in play. Still he is not over confident that he will take this tournament down.
In the latest two hands Mikael Johansson has doubled up both Tamás Csibri and Jesus Perez. Perez was way behind with Ace-Three against King-Nine with the board showing KQ38, but the river came another three and Perez is back in the match.
For the second time in just a few minutes, we have seen pocket aces on the Final Table. this time it was Pierre Canart from Belgium that just raised, Egi Adriaans put him all-in with King-Jack and got an insta-call. The flop was a bit scary for the at risk Canart, QT4, giving Adriaans an open ended straight draw, but blank turn and river doubled Canart up to 110,000.
Nuno Santos from Portugal moved all-in with Queen-Five of spades and got called by Mikael Johansson. As if he needed more luck with his cards, he found pocket aces which was enough to win the hand and eliminate Santos in 7th place earning €4,000.
Egi Ariaans from Belgium was extremely short stacked when he moved his last 40,000 over the line. He got called by Jesus Perez with pocket kings. The flop came Eight-Five-Five! Turn and river came Deuce-Deuce and Ariaans doubled up to 95,000.
We have reached the Final Table of EPEC 2010 and here are the nine finalists as they are introduced in front of the crowd.
King-Jack for Benjamin Rehm who is all-in is up against Ace-Nine of Mikael Johansson. There are all low cards on the board and Rehm is eliminated in 8th place, earning €3,000. Johansson now has more than half of the chips in play.
Swede Mikeal Johansson had 584,000 when the final table started. After dominating during the first hour, and eliminating Morten Kjaer Jensen, he is now up to 831,000 which is not to far from half of the chips in play.
Benjamin Rehm was shortstacked and got his money in with Ace-Ten against the pocket deuces of Egi Ariaans. The flop was blank, but an ace on the turn saved the night for Rehm, at least for now, and he doubled up to 140,000.
Dane Morten Kjaer Jensen moves all in from early position with Queen-Jack and gets called by the chip leader Mikael Johansson who holds King-Queen. No help for Jensen who gets eliminated in 9th place earning €2,000.
Short stacked Gael Seydoux calls all in pre flop with Ace-Queen and is up against Benjamin Rehm's Ace-Four. No help for Rehm and Seydoux is back in better shape on 140,000.
After the dinner break, all nine finalists are now back at the Final Table. All nine have the chance to win it, but there will be only one that takes down the first prize of €21,000.
Here are some highlights from the EPEC weekend to show what a great event it was.
