WPT Barcelona Day 2

21/05/10 @ 09:32:32 am by Jerome

Update: 23H50 End of Day 2

It's the end of Day 2 WPT Barcelona, there are 47 players remaining with an average of 104,400 chips

Steven Van Zadelhoff ended the day with 147,200 chips.
He has indeed lost a big pot with A K against the Q Q and J J of his opponents ...

We therefore give you an appointment tomorrow at 3pm from the coverage of Day 3 of the WPT Barcelona. The day promises to be busy with the bursting of the bubble that is fast approaching.

Update: 23H20 Steven up to 211,000 chips!

There are 47 players remaining with an average of 104,042 chips and 20 minutes to play in level 16 (1,500/3,000-300).

After being up to 176,600 chips, Steven raised the Big Blind to 7,200.

A player on a UTG+3 shoved for 27,500 chips.

Everyone folded and Steven called with 2s 2d.

His opponent shows Ah Jh.

The board is: 8c Ks 5h .... 2c 6d

Steven sent his opponent out with a trips of 2 and won 27,500 with the blinds and ante totalling 6,900 more chips, so in total a win of 34,400 chips.

Our Team Everest player, Steven Van Zadelhoff, has therefore grown a stack of 211,000 chips and he's now ranked among the biggest stacks in the tournament!

Update: 22H25 Steven rises to 158,000 with a set of aces!

Steven was down to 110,000 chips after he lost a coin flip with 8 8 against the A K served on the flop for his opponent.

Then he discovered A A again and paid the All In of his opponent.
Nothing on the board. He's now up to 158,000 chips!

We're at level 14 with blinds at 1,200/2,400 and a 300 Ante. There are 57 players remaining and the average is 85,789 chips.

Steven Van Zadelhoff now has more than twice the average with 158,000 chips.

Update: 22H00 Steven Van Zadelhoff up to 134,000 chips!

After 1h30 of patience, during which Steven was card dead, he's now up to 134,000 chips in just two hands!

With the first hand Steven is up to 96,000 with a trips of 3 and two players to call his raise.

On the next move Steven is Big Blind for 2,400, the button raised to 5,100 and the small blind pushes all-in for 34,000 chips. Steven paid with A A, the button folded.

The small blind shows Kh Th.

The board (3 6 6 5 2) allowed our Team Everest player to reach the 134,000 chips!

Update: 19H40 Dinner Break

It's the dinner break and there are 69 remaining players enjoying an hour of free time.

The blinds will resume at 1,000/2,000 with a 200 Ante at Level 13.

The average is 70,869 chips.

Steven Van Zadelhoff changed from his table just before the break and he has an average of 70,000 chips.

Update: 18H40 Elimination of Maria by Steven

Our two players of Team Everest just went head to head.

Maria Maceiras pushed all-in for her last 10,000 chips with Qh 7h and Steven called with A 9.

Maria has a flush, but unfortunately for our Spanish player, Steven has a Full House with A A 9 9 9 ..

Maria Maceiras leaves the WPT Barcelona prematurely after 2 days play.

Steven Van Zadelhoff is the only player from Team Everest remaining on the list for the WPT Barcelona with a stack of 76,000 chips.

Update: 17H50 Steven Van Zadelhoff doubled up

We are at level 11 with blinds at 600/1,200 and a 100 Ante and there are only 87 players remaining at the second day of the WPT Barcelona.

After falling to 24,000 chips, Steven Van Zadelhoff just double up his stack after he pushed All In with A 3 offsuit against As Qs for his opponent. A pair of 3 hit the flop. He's now up to 46,000 chips.

Note that our two players of Team Everest are found side by side at the same table.

Steven Van Zadelhoff won 10,000 with an aggressive move with Q Q in hand against the same opponent.

Steven Van Zadelhoff: 56,000 chips
Maria Maceiras: 15,700 chips

Update: 16H30 End of Level 9

It's the end of Level 9, we are now at level 10 with blinds at 500/1,000 and a 100 Ante. There are 114 players remaining in the tournament with an average of 42,894 chips.

Here is an updated chip count of our Team Everest players.

Steven van Zadelhoff: 36,000 chips
Maria Maceiras: 14,000 chips

Update: 16H20pm Elimination of Antoine Saout

Our November Nine has just suffered three consecutive bad shots that pushed him toward the exit.

Antoine lost a first coin flip with A K against 7 7 for a pot of 36,000.

He has lost a second coin flip with 6 6 against A T for a pot of 25,000.

Then he's down to 23,000 chips at the end of Level 9.

So we are at the last hand before the end of Level 9 and here is the preflop action:

1. A short stacked player in a UTG position shoved for 4,900 chips with 2 T.
2. Antoine, at the cutoff, pushes all-in for his last 23,000 chips with Qs Js.
3. The big blind called the two players with J J.

Unfortunately the board will not save our November Nine who found the exit prematurely.

Update: 15H40

Steven lost more than the half his stack on a blow!

Here is the action:

1. UTG opens to 1,600 preflop.
2. One player called, then Steven called and the button shoved all-in for 16,000.
3. Everyone folded and Steven called with 9 9 against the A 8 of his opponent.
4. The player in UTG position said that he has folded an ace!
5. An ace came on the flop and Steven lost more than 17,600 chips.

Just 5 minutes later, Steven has pocket Aces in his hand and a player pushed All In with A Q off suit, Steven called and came back to 25,000 chips!
