Steven Van Zadelhoff ended the day with 29,900 chips.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow to attend Day 1B of the WPT Barcelona.

Update: 23H15: Level 7

67 players are still competing in Day 1A of the WPT Barcelona and the average is 30,000 chips.

There are 30 minutes remaining to play in Level 7 with blinds at 200/400 and a 50 Ante.

That leaves 1 hour and 30 minutes to play today and our Team Everest players are still going strong!

Here is their updated chip count:

Antoine Saout: 51,000 chips

Antoine gradually built his stack after playing a large number of hands.

Steven Van Zadelhoff: 20,000 chips

Steven is progressing slowly but surely and he's playing rather tight.

Update: 22H00: Level 6

Antoine Saout and Steven Van Zadelhoff are in good positions.

We are half way through level 6 with blinds at 150/300 and a 25 Ante, there are only 77 players remaining and the average is 26,103 chips.

Here is an updated chipcount of our players of Team Everest:

Antoine Saout: 30,000 chips

Our Team Everest players have had very good starts at their new tables.

Update: 20H30

It's the end of level 5 and there are 85 players remaining of the 134 entrants. They take advantage of an hour dinner break.

The average is 23,647 chips.

The players will return in an hour for Level 6 with blinds at 150/300 and a 25 Ante.

Update: 20H25: Final confrontation between our two players from Team Everest

Steven Van Zadelhoff raised the big blind up to 850 chips and is paid by Antoine Saout in the position of .... Big Blind!

The flop is 2s 6d Ad and both players check.

The turn is a 4c.

Antoine bet 1,350 and he's paid by Steven.

The river is 9c.

Antoine then raised up to 3,600 chips and Steven checked.

Antoine then shows Ah 6h for two pair and Steven mucked his hand after seeing an ace. This 2nd confrontation was really similar to the first one.

Antoine Saout now has more than 27,000 chips.

Steven has now decreased to 10,000 chips.

The table breaks just after this hand and both players are now located at two different tables.

Update: 20H20: Antoine Saout Doubles Up

Antoine Saout finds himself short stacked again after the flop several times without success.

With a stack of 10,800 chips he opens in a UTG+2 position to 725 and a player who always re-raises him raises to 2,200!

After all the other players fold their hands, Antoine pushes all-in for his last 10,000 chips. He has 6h 8h and he's paid by 7c 7h.

The board is: Th 8d Jd Jc 3h

So Antoine Saout doubles up his stack and he's now up to 21,000 chips!

Update: 19H30: End of Level 4

It's the end of level 4 and players enjoy a 10 minute break before Level 5 begins with blinds at 150/300.

Antoine Saout is down to 11,450 chips.

Steven Van Zadelhoff is at 15,000 chips.

Steven told us that he had to fold with J J and Q Q during this level after some aggressive raising by his opponents and the flop against him.

Note that the first confrontation between our two players of Team Everest for a 1,600 chip pot has taken place.

The flop wasn't favorable for either player: Steven won this confrontation with A 6 against...A 5 for Antoine Saout!

Update: 18H30 Antoine Saout Double Up

We are at Level 4 (100/200), there are 114 players remaining from the 134 entrants of Day 1A and the average is 17,631 chips.

Antoine Saout was able to come back to 9,500 chips, and then this happened:

The opponent to his right opened to 550 and Antoine, in a position UTG+3, raises to 1,350, called by the other player.

The flop is Js 6s 3d.

Antoine Saout put in 1,675 and his opponent raised to 6,000.

Our November Nine decided to push all-in and his opponent called after a slight hesitation.

Antoine then showed Ks Jh against Ts 9s for his opponent!

The turn is a 2c and the river is a 9.

Antoine Saout doubled up his stack to 19,000 chips! He's now above the average.

Steven is down to 13,000 chips.

Update: 18H15: End of Level 2

It's the end of level 2 and players enjoy a 15 minute break.

Antoine Saout just lost 9,700 chips after making an aggressive move with K Q while his opponent had Pocket Aces in hand. He then finds himself short stacked with 5,400 chips.

Steven Van Zadelhoff climbed to 19,000 chips and fell back to 16,000 chips just before the break.

Level 3 starts in 15 minutes with blinds at 75/150.
