Coverage Day 2 Open Palm Beach in Cannes

04/04/10 @ 09:26:50 am by Jerome

Hello and welcome to this second day of the Palm Beach Open in Cannes.

There is 78 players remaining.

The average is 24 615 and the blinds are at 200/400.

Our Everest players took their seats and are ready for the second day of this Poker weekend.

Team Everest's Antoine Saout capped at 34 300 in chips and enjoys a position a little more comfortable to pick the right spots.

Our 2010 Live the Dream Team's Leonard Truche is in a difficult position with 13 900 in chips and will therefore battle to achieve a return in the average and remain on the list.

Note that for the moment, two players stood out with a stack of 66K and the vast majority of other players are at the chip average.

Edit 15h43: Antoine Saout wins 8000 chips

Antoine Saout just won over 8K against his left hand neighbour with two pair — 8s and 2s. He's now at 45,500 chips!

Edit 15h50 Elimination of Leonard Truche

There are four players on the game for a board that displays:
6c 7c J

Leonard Truche has on his hands with a double possibility of a flush and a straight with 8c10c

He decides to bet 1200. An opponent raise to 3 000 and Leo decides to push his last 10 000 chips.

The opponent call with JT and unfortunately neither the turn nor the river will help our Live The Dream player who finds the way out prematurely.

Edit 4.20pm

Antoine Saout imposes his game to the table and multiply the strokes played against his opponents!

It now stands at 72 000!

The blinds are 300/600 and there are 62 players remaining in the tournament for an average of 30 967.

Edit 5.20pm

Players take advantage of 15min break

There is 55 players remaining with an average of 34 909 in chips.

Blinds will start again at 400/800

Antoine Saout is still in the race with a stack of 70 000.

The bubble is at 9 players with the following prize pool:

1. € 40 466
2. € 24 260
3. € 14 920
4. € 12 440
5. € 9 950
6. € 7 460
7. € 6 220

Edit 7.41pm - Dinner break

After 4h30 of play, players take advantage of one hour of dinner break.

There's only 41 players remaining for 9 seats in the money.

The average stack is 46 829 and the blinds will be coming to 600/1200 with a 100 Ante

Antoine Saout is still in the race but ended up short stack with 20 000 chips.
He has lost several confrontations against opponents with a lot of depth in chips and it's after a long period of variation that our November Nine find himself on this situation. But that's poker and if you are not dead, everything is possible ...

Edit 9:30pm : Elimination of Antoine Saout
After one hour of play, our November Nine came back on the average with 40 000 chips.

In preflop, 3 players call the big blind to 1 200 chips.
Antoine raise to 8 100 and he's re-raised to 25 000 by his left neighbour!

Everyone fold and Antoine pushes All in.

Insta-call from his neighbor who shows a pair JJ.

With a smile, Antoine shows KK!

The board announced:

4 3 J 5 5

So Antoine find the way out on this bad beat while there's only 34 players remaining on this second day of the Open Palm Beach in Cannes.

He played a very good game during this two days and he left the table with the cheers of the other players sat on his table.
