30/04/10 @ 01:07:05 pm by Jerome

Fabrice Soulier has just been crowned winner of the € 2,000 Side Event at the EPT Grand Final Monte Carlo!

Fabsoul has demonstrated throughout these two days an outstanding knowledge of the game and much patience. These attributes have allowed him to win against his strong opponents.

After having eliminated the Spaniard Juan Maceiras -chip leader earlier in the final table - our Team Everest player went heads-up with the English player Jeffrey Duval.

After just half an hour, his opponent pushes all in with Ace High, Fabrice discovers KK and calls the all in of his opponent.

The board shows J 6 6 4 6.

Therefore, it's with a full house that Fabrice Soulier adds a new title to his outstanding track record!

Flop is: 9 8 9

Our November Nine opens at 34,000 and his opponent pushes all-in - paid by Antoine with a possibility of a straight draw in both ends. His opponent shows 8 7.

Neither the turn nor the river will help our Player of Team Everest who loses 190,000 chips.

Antoine Saout pushes all-in with his last 56,000 chips with a pair of 6's. The same player shows a pair of J's.

The board will not help our November Nine who will go out of the tournament just before the final table.

Congratulations to Antoine for his performance at the EPT Grand Finale Monte Carlo.

Update: 18H00

Level 16 has just ended and there are only two tables and 15 players remaining in this event.

Players enjoy a 90 minute break for dinner and rest after six hours of play.

Our Team Everest player Antoine Saout is still racing with a stack of 388,000 chips.
The level of the raise is so high that our November Nine had lost 120,000 in chips by playing only 'little pots' against his opponents and by the levels of blinds.

Terrible start for Cris and Francesco at EPT Sanremo (presented by Pokerstars.it)

16/04/10 @ 11:25:44 am by Marco

No Luck for Cristiano Blanco and Francesco De Vivo at the EPT Sanremo. Cris is out after a series of bad hands. Most of his stack went in the middle holding QQ on a T high board. The opponent had a set.
Similar start for Francesco, who's still in the tourney but with 8k only. He had a full-overfull confrontation holding 33 on a 38AA9 board. His opponent had 88. Kudos to Francesco who checked the river and saved the remaining chunk of his stack.
Edit 18.00 Francesco is out
Francesco pushes for his remaining 5k with 66, gets a call from KQs who completes the flush draw on the turn.

10/04/10 @ 11:01:58 am by Katie

Update: Bubble

We're down to 19 players and have finally reached the bubble of SPT Aranjuez.

Our very own Catarina Santos was the first to move all in with Q's and was called by AJ. After a long and tense board Catarina took the hand down, doubling up. Catarina beat the bubble and is 1 of 2 Everest Poker pros still standing. Steven van Zadelhoff is still in with a big stack.

Shortly after Catarina doubled up Pablo Ubierna went out on a coin flip.

The Everest pros have been dropping like flies since the dinner break. Sigurd Eskeland, Tobi Wagner, Javier Martinez and Cristiano Blanco are among the Everest players out of the tournament.

Cristiano commented about his play, "I felt really good during day 1. I was very proud of the way I played. Unfortunately today I didn't catch any cards and was on a very tough table (with other Everest players Sigurd Eskeland and Pablo Ubierna)". After a long battle Cris went out in 25th place with Q's all in preflop against AK. There was a K on the flop and no luck for our Team Everest stallion.

Steven's Rise to the Top:

Our 2009 SPT Champion and favorite Team Everest Dutchie Steven van Zadelhoff has climbed his way to the top of the Main Event here in Aranjuez, taking chips from anyone in his path, including his Everest Poker teammates Javier Martinez and Catarina Santos.

With a couple of significant moves Steven ended play before the dinner break with 180,000 chips. His first big move was against our Portuguese pro Catarina Santos. Steven won a coin flip with a pair of J's again AK doubling him up from 45K to 90K. Don't worry about Catarina, she has managed to climb her way back to 40,000 chips and is still very much in the game.

Steven's second big pot was against Live the Dream Team member Javier Martinez. Steven flopped a set of 4's against Javi's 2 pair with A8. Javi is also still in the tournament with 20,000.

After the dinner break the 38 remaining players will start level 12 with blinds of 800/1600, ante of 200 and average chip count of 63,000.

Coverage Day 2 Open Palm Beach in Cannes

04/04/10 @ 09:26:50 am by Jerome

Hello and welcome to this second day of the Palm Beach Open in Cannes.

There is 78 players remaining.

The average is 24 615 and the blinds are at 200/400.

Our Everest players took their seats and are ready for the second day of this Poker weekend.

Team Everest's Antoine Saout capped at 34 300 in chips and enjoys a position a little more comfortable to pick the right spots.

Our 2010 Live the Dream Team's Leonard Truche is in a difficult position with 13 900 in chips and will therefore battle to achieve a return in the average and remain on the list.

Note that for the moment, two players stood out with a stack of 66K and the vast majority of other players are at the chip average.

Edit 15h43: Antoine Saout wins 8000 chips

Antoine Saout just won over 8K against his left hand neighbour with two pair — 8s and 2s. He's now at 45,500 chips!

Antoine Saout

Edit 15h50 Elimination of Leonard Truche

There are four players on the game for a board that displays:
6c 7c J

Leonard Truche has on his hands with a double possibility of a flush and a straight with 8c10c

He decides to bet 1200. An opponent raise to 3 000 and Leo decides to push his last 10 000 chips.

The opponent call with JT and unfortunately neither the turn nor the river will help our Live The Dream player who finds the way out prematurely.

Leonard Truche

Edit 4.20pm

Antoine Saout imposes his game to the table and multiply the strokes played against his opponents!

It now stands at 72 000!

The blinds are 300/600 and there are 62 players remaining in the tournament for an average of 30 967.

Edit 5.20pm

Players take advantage of 15min break

There is 55 players remaining with an average of 34 909 in chips.

Blinds will start again at 400/800

Antoine Saout is still in the race with a stack of 70 000.

The bubble is at 9 players with the following prize pool:

1. € 40 466
2. € 24 260
3. € 14 920
4. € 12 440
5. € 9 950
6. € 7 460
7. € 6 220
8. € 4 970
9. € 3 730

Antoine Saout: 70 000 chips

Antoine Saout

Edit 7.41pm - Dinner break

After 4h30 of play, players take advantage of one hour of dinner break.

There's only 41 players remaining for 9 seats in the money.

The average stack is 46 829 and the blinds will be coming to 600/1200 with a 100 Ante

Antoine Saout is still in the race but ended up short stack with 20 000 chips.
He has lost several confrontations against opponents with a lot of depth in chips and it's after a long period of variation that our November Nine find himself on this situation. But that's poker and if you are not dead, everything is possible ...

Edit 9:30pm : Elimination of Antoine Saout
After one hour of play, our November Nine came back on the average with 40 000 chips.

In preflop, 3 players call the big blind to 1 200 chips.
Antoine raise to 8 100 and he's re-raised to 25 000 by his left neighbour!

Everyone fold and Antoine pushes All in.

Insta-call from his neighbor who shows a pair JJ.

With a smile, Antoine shows KK!

The board announced:

4 3 J 5 5

So Antoine find the way out on this bad beat while there's only 34 players remaining on this second day of the Open Palm Beach in Cannes.

He played a very good game during this two days and he left the table with the cheers of the other players sat on his table.
