Coverage Evian Poker Open: Main Event

20/03/10 @ 09:27:37 pm by Jerome

Edit 22h28: ELIMINATION OF FABIEN PERROT

An English player who had lost most of his chips on a bad bluff shove his last 4.400 chips and Fabien decided to isolate it by calling all in for 10,000 additional chips.

At slaughter, Q8 for English vs. 66 for Fabien.

Board: Th Qc 7c / 5s ... 8c!

Following this beat, Fabien is left with a stack chips 9.500

On the next hand, he decided to push with K9 ... paid by another short stack who had KQ and which dominates the hand of our player.

However, it will almost believed in miracles since the first map to be unveiled is a 9, but unfortunately falls a Q

It leaves Fabien with a stack of 300 chips.

So its on the next hand that Fabien was eliminated.

Edit 21:56: The tournament starts again. The blinds are 300-600 and 100 ante with an average of 36.857. There is 70 players remaining on the 129 recorded earlier today.

Among them are the pro player of Team Everest, Fabien Perrot with 15.800 chips and the amateur player on EVP, Koen Reefman with 8.600.

Edit 19h59: Players now take advantage of a dinner break.

Edit 19h10: The blinds are 200-400 and 75 ante. The average is 28.666 and there are still 90 players remaining on the 129 enrolled.

Edit 18:45: ELIMINATION OF NICOLAS POLONIATO

Since the beginning of the day, Nicolas Poloniato plays at a special table just as in the game (raise 15BB preflop call 3 times) than the general atmosphere is very heavy, due to some players who engaged in brilliantly of verbal jousting.

Then he lost half his stack, he was moved to a new table. On the blinds at 150-300, two players limp and Nicolas bet to 1,600 on the SB ... 1 call.

Flop: 9-7-5.

CBET 2,300 of Nicolas and call of his opponent.

Turn: 7.

Nicolas sends its latest 6.400 chips and his opponent decides to call with 6-5 ... who is facing his AQ and the little 55 win.

Nicolas then found the path to exit prematurely.

Edit 18h34: DOUBLE UP Fabien PERROT

Since the begining of the tournament, Fabien has only found little pots to play and result of this, he saw his stack down slowly but surely.

However, the situation was not hopeless because our player was 12.500 on blinds at 150-300 and 25 ante.

That's when Fabien opens at 1,000 and one opponent 3bet to 4,000. Fabien decides to push his remaining chips in the center, call by his opponent: a pair of AA for Fabien that's largely dominates the pair 55 of his opponent.

No horror for our Everest Poker player who finally saw his stack exceed the original amount.

Edit 17h38: Players now have a break of 15 minutes.

Edit 17h28: ELIMINATION OF JULIAN CLAUDEPIERRE

After a raise to 800 of his opponent, Julien Claudepierre decides to push his latest chips 3.500 pre flop, instantly paid by his opponent who had once again AA, dominating the KJ of "garrincho54".

The board 5c 7d Qc 6h Qs will not help our players of Team Everest and find the way out!

Everest Poker at Volvo ICE CAMP on top of the Austrian Kitzsteinhorn

03/20/10 @ 05:28:07 am by Corina

For the second time Everest Poker hosts the world's highest final table

This weekend a great Poker spectacle took place in the Austrian Alps - more precisely in the Volvo ICE CAMP on top of the Kitzsteinhorn. After last year's awesome success Everest Poker again invited players to a tournament up high. At over 8200 feet above sea level a giant igloo became a stunning poker floor.

The beautiful weather in mountains invited the players to either run downhill the slopes or relax on the snowy sundeck of the camp. Afterwards, it was time to get focused - qualifiers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland took their seats. Amongst the players, former Miss Austria Tanja Duhovich who has tasted blood last year and did not want to miss this year's challenge.

Heat in the igloo

The highest final table on earth

Only three players left: Big showdown!
All three of them push all-in at preflop. Thomas holds a pocket pair (6 6), the others J 10 and A K. With Q 9 on the board Tibo is very close to straight - but not close enough. Thomas wins with his pair kicking both opponents out of the game in one hand.

The winners and the final table:
1) Thomas Schmid (DE):
gains a wellness weekend in the luxurious Alpine Palace in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, known as the venue of the EPT Snowfest

2) Marcus Wohlgemuth (AT):
gets a dashing Everest Poker Snowboard

3) Tibo Petrasch (AT):
is as well awarded with a snowboard

4) Matthias Staudigl (AT):
hats off for our bubble boy

5) Maximillian Harin (DE)
6) Tanja Duhovich (AT)
7) Martin Brinkmann (DE)
8) Fabian Ott (AT)
9) Pascal Faerber (CH)

The lucky winners! Congrats!
