Edit 23h45: ELIMINATION OF JULIEN CLAUDEPIERRE
Against all odds when he had a stack therefore well above the average of the tournament, Julien had a big confrontation against the tournament chip leader who were at his table.
Everyone fold until this player and he opens to 5k (1k-2k blinds). Julien discovers the AA and he decides to 3bet to 14k. His opponent insta shove and our player decides to call. AA Vs 55 ...
Board: Q 9 8 / 3................ 5!!!!!!!
So it is on a bad beat that our Live The Dream player finds the way out. It is really unfair as his game was perfect!
Julien may feed big regret on this one because without this bad beat, he was going to become ultra chip leader with all the cards in hand to achieve a great performance. Indeed, at this moment there were only 28 players remaining with 13 in the money!
You can find the coverage of our Everest players next Saturday for the Main Event of the Evian Poker Open.
Edit 22h45:
Back from the break, Julien Claudepierre had 55k and the recovery was rather successful. Indeed, on a first confrontation, a short stack who had 18k pushed the rest of his chips with QK. "garrincho54" easily paid with AK and he eliminates a new player on this side event and advanced to 73k.
A few hands later, Julien eliminates a new short stack with QQ vs JJ and peaks at 82k.
Edit 20h45: Players now take advantage of a 1 hour dinner break.
Edit 20h30:
We're at level 9 with blinds at 500/1000 and 100 ante. There are still 39 players remaining on the 122 enrolled.
The average is 47,000.
On a recent beating, Julien "garrincho54" Claudepierre, pay the all in of his opponent (13bb approximately) with AQ. His opponent reveals 99 for a flip that turn that to the advantage of our player who grow his stack to up to 55k.
Edit 18h24: ELIMINATION OF FABIEN PERROT!!!
Back from the break, Fabien realizes that he miss a chip of 1,000 (on the 7.000 chips that he has before the break) its neighbors on the left and right support him on his claim, but there is no cctv in the tournament hall, so Fabien has lost 1.000 chips!
Since none of the players at the table enter the game, he decided to send his last 5.500 chips with A8 ... paid by the BB with TT!
The board will not help our Live The Dream player who finds the way out prematurely.
Stay connected for news of Julien Claudepierre still racing in this Side Event 2 of the Evian Poker Open.
Edit 17h30: The players are back in the tournament hall after a well deserved break for 15 minutes. The blinds are 250/500 and 50 ante. The average is 19.218.
96 players on the original 123 are still in the race.
Regarding our Live The Dream players, both are still in the race:
Julien Claudepierre is above average with about 23k while Fabien Perrot has lost a big part of his stack on the next hand:
Raise in position with Fabien Kd Tx and a player on the button.
Flop: Ad Td 7x
Cbet of Fabien. Paid by his opponent.
Turn: 2d
Fabien check-raise with his second pair and flush draw max. Paid by his opponent.
A brick fell on the river and both checked.
His opponent reveals a trips 222 hit on the turn.
Edit 15h45: We are at level 3 of this side event and there is 112 players remaining on the 120 who participated to this tourney.
The blinds are 100-200 and 25 ante with an average of 16k.
On the side of the Live The Dream Team, after the first two levels of play, Fabien Perraut has his initial stack while teammate Julien Claudepierre has 7.400.
Hazard of the draw, Fabien Perrot is at the same table as other members of the community Everest Poker. First, you have the French player Nicolas Poloniato and the Holland player AAPocketAA.
Note also the presence in his left Finalist WSOP and WSOP 2009, James Akenhead!
Just before the break, Nicolas Poloniato has lost the major part of his stack by touching a straight while his opponent sends all in with a trips. Unfortunately for "Polo", his opponent touches a pair which makes full house.
After this hand, Nicolas Poloniato finds himself with a stack of 5BB around and push with JT vs KK ... no miracle will save our excellent player who finds the way to the hotel to enjoy the beautiful SPA Evian, waiting to find the cash game tables later in the day.
