Antoine Saout - Top 5 of WSOP Europe!

30/09/09 @ 06:20:00 pm by Katie

Big news for our November Nine, Antoine Saout is currently top 5 in the World Series of Poker Europe! With only twelve players remaining, Antonie is in the running for another World Series of Poker final table.

ALLEZ ANTOINE!!!

Antoine final 12 of WSOPE!

30/09/09 @ 06:09:03 pm by Ed

So its WSOPE, 12 left, you're ahead of Negreanu...Doyle just busted. You are also in the November Nine...a dream? No, you're Antoine Saout!

ALLEZ, ALLEZ!

WSOPE London Day4: aiming for history

30/09/09 @ 06:35:34 am by Marco

Antoine Saout will come back today to claim a piece of poker history at WSOPE London.
Our November Niner is in the money. He found his way among the toughest field one can imagine, so he already proved not to be a one-hit wonder.
Today we will go down to 9 players.
Antoine's goal is to repeat what Ivan Demidov did last year: land at the Final Table at the Main Event in Vegas and do the same in London.
Last year Demidov finished 3rd in London and then runner-up in Vegas.
We can only just guess if Antoine would settle for this result, because we're sure that he's going for the bracelet both in London and in Vegas!

He seats at Table4 among several notable players: Ram Vaswani, Timoshenko and the chip leader of the table, Fung.

WSOPE Day3 Final Update: Antoine 202k

29/09/09 @ 07:33:00 pm by Marco

And we're done for the day! Antoine is in the money but with a diminished stack. 202k.
He lost a big pot against Matt Hawrilenko and he told us that he also lost a bit of his already legendary self control.
We'll be back tomorrow!!!

ANTOINE CHIPLEADER: 555K

29/09/09 @ 05:38:52 pm by Marco

Update: Antoine knocks out Amnon Filippi and climbs to the top!!!!!

Antoine updates: 380k

29/09/09 @ 02:25:02 pm by Marco

Dinner break and Antoine updates us. He has 380k. He's 4th in chips!!!!!!

WSOPE London: Antoine back to 315k!!!!!

29/09/09 @ 02:11:29 pm by Marco

Antoine is back to the top 10 chipcounts of the WSOPE London.
He found a quick double up to get back to 160k before the end of Level 13, gave a phone interview to the Italian "Men's Health" during the break and went back to Table 2...
He won a big pot against Liz Lieu, raising from the Small Blind. Liz, on the BB, called. The flop came rags, 932, but Antoine bet 12k. Liz raised to 28k. Antoine three-bet to 55k and Liz quickly folded.
Then he busted a player who pushed all in with 33. Antoine had QQ, called and scooped the pot.
Players are in dinner break now. 46 players left, -10 to the money!

WSOPE London: Antoine down to 80k

29/09/09 @ 12:25:01 pm by Marco

Antoine is down to 80k after the loss of a couple of big pots. He was down to 150k when the TV table was broken down, and he was moved to Table2.
On the blinds 1200-2400 ante 300, Antoine raised 7000 in middle position, called by the small blind. Flop came K45, with 4 and 5 of hearts. The SB checked, Antoine checked. Turn was 9 of hearts. SB checked, Antoine bet 11k and the SB after a long deliberation, pushes all in for 40k more. Antoine makes a very nice call with KT and the King of hearts, so top pair and flush draw. SB showed AQ, with the Ace flush draw. The SB was basically drawing for an ace or an heart. And the river was the 8 of hearts... Bad luck

WSOPE London: the TV table with Antoine

29/09/09 @ 11:54:15 am by Marco

WSOPE London Update: Antoine 270k, Kim out

29/09/09 @ 11:46:07 am by Marco

Antoine is back in good shape a much needed double up. He has 270k now and he's also back to the TV table!
He has position again on Steve Zolotow. Antoine played much of his tournament at the same table with the "Bald Eagle" or "Le Moustachois" as Antoine nicknamed him.

At the TV table Antoine faces the living legend Doyle Brunson.

Unfortunately we lost our very gracious Kim. She lost the most classic race holding AK versus Negreanu's Jacks. An Ace fell on the flop, but a terrible Jack on the turn sealed the pot for Kid Poker.

BOOM! Saout doubles up early in Day3

29/09/09 @ 10:01:58 am by Rocio

Antoine Saout, the November Niner & Team Everest player, is continuing his irresistable run at the WSOPE after his cash in the Main Event of the PPT in Cannes.

Antoine struck early on Day 3 of WSOPE to take his stack to 170K with the average at 120K. 80 players remain and 36 make the money.

ALLEZ ANTOINE!

WSOPE London Day3: Antoine and Kim for the money

29/09/09 @ 07:19:55 am by Marco

It's another day at the Empire Casino in Leicester Square, London. Day3 of the WSOPE Main Event has just begun with 92 players left. Less then half of them will get in the money.
We still have Antoine and Kim in, but both players had a tough Day2 and they are below average now. Kim is at Table 1, with little more than 10 big blings and some guys like Daniel Negreanu, Man Nguyen and Arnaud Mattern sitting next to her.
Antoine, with 90k, has a little more room to breathe, but he's still the shortest stack at Table 11, led by Yevgeniy Timoshenko.
But we know they can make it, right?

WSOPE Day2 Final Update: Antoine and Kim on the slippery slope

28/09/09 @ 08:11:09 pm by Marco

Antoine and Kim suffered the last level of the tournament today. Antoine at the featured table lost a very big pot against Doherty and was down to 42k before doubling up and getting back into the game. He has 90k now. Below average but still enough to fight.

Kim Wooka, card dead, lingered around her stack of 40k for the whole day but she lost a 20k pot in the very last hand. She has 22k now.

We'll be back for Day3. After all, it's better to get lucky tomorrow than today.

WSOPE London Midnight Update: Antoine and Kim still in the hunt

28/09/09 @ 07:10:51 pm by Marco

Antoine is at the TV table! He lost a couple of big pots and he's down to 115k but he's under the spotlights again. He's battling at the featured table with Jason Mercier and Steve Zolotow.
Kim can't lift off his 45k stack. She's waiting for good opportunities but she also need some help from the cards.
We'll update as soon as we have (good) news.

WSOPE London Day2: Antoine draws Timoshenko, Kim sits with Devilfish and Kabbaj

28/09/09 @ 09:47:48 am by Marco

Day2 of WSOPE Main Event is about to begin. Our two Team Everest survivors were redrawn and they managed to avoid the "death tables" where chipleaders and poker superstars are bound to clash. They do not fear any player in the field, obviously, but they probably do not mind to face a little softer competition.

Antoine Saout is massive chipleader at his table with 144k. Only Brandon Adams (72k) and Peter Gould (70k) can seriously pose a threat to his stack. But Russian pro Yevgeniy Timoshenko (30k) is also dangerous.

Kim Wooka, with 42k in chips, has a tough table with John Kabbaj on her left (104k), Erik Friberg and Dave Ulliott on the right with 49k.

WSOPE Final Update Day1B: Antoine 2nd chipleader of the day!

27/09/09 @ 08:07:31 pm by Marco

With a perfect Day1B Antoine reaches the 2nd place in today's chip count with 144k, and confirms one more time that his seat at the WSOP Final Table in November is well deserved.

Antoine leads just behind Steve Zolotow with 160k. A total of 107 reached Day2 from today's flight. He will start Day2 in the top 10 places. Day1A action apparently has been wilder as it produced 8 out of the 10 highest chipcounts.

Kim Wooka is doing ok, with 42k: slightly below average but still in good shape to fight.

Tomorrow the game will resume at 5.30 pm London time.

Wsope Update 19.00: Antoine 71k, Kim 40k

27/09/09 @ 02:11:23 pm by Marco

Antoine climbs to new heights after a big pot where his opponent has to fold on the river a flopped top straight on a flop T79! Turn T and river 7, with the Antoine's All In bet on the river are too scary for the opponent who shows 8J.

Antoine sits at the most chatty and funny table of the tournament. Antonio Esfandiari can't stop proposing new challenges, trading bets on virtually everything he can imagine. But Antoine is not one of his customers tonight. Our November Niner is very concentrated!

Kim was moved to a different table. Her stack is still healthy at 40k. Now she has to face some more very experienced players such as Andre Akkari and Howard Lederer.

WSOPE Update 17.30: Kim and Antoine cruising

27/09/09 @ 12:36:09 pm by Marco

At the end of the third level of play Kim and Antoine are still in the tournament. Antoine is doing well with around 50k. Kim has basically the original stack, 30k.

Antonio Esfaniari is entertaining players and massage girls with side bets and math games, but Antoine manages to keep his concentration.

Antoine tests another WSOP Main Event

27/09/09 @ 08:43:29 am by Marco

While waiting for the Big Deal, the Final Table of the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, our Team Everest Member Antoine Saout is in London for the European version of the match.
172 players have registered so far for Day 1B. This, combined with yesterday's total of 156, gives a total of 328 hopeful souls running for a total prizepool of 3,28M pounds. John Juanda, reigning champion of WSOPE announced the "shuffle up and deal" today.

Antoine will not have the chance to meet Phil Ivey at the table during this event. Ivey busted yesterday during Day1A. He has a world-famous player at his table anyway: the "Magician" Antonio Esfandiari.
Learn some tricks, Antoine!!

Wsope: spotlights on Kim!

27/09/09 @ 07:41:24 am by Marco

Glamorous Kim Wooka gets the spotlights in London where she's playing Day 1B of the WSOPE Main Event. Our Team Everest member sits at a tough table with a mix of young players and experts such as Steve Zolotow.
We'll update the blog as the game goes on.

November Niner Antoine Saout will also play today, but he hasn't took his seat yet. The tournament is very long and he probably decided to skip the first rounds of play.

No luck for Cris

26/09/09 @ 02:04:46 pm by Marco

Terrible tournament for Cristiano. He's already out after just 2 levels. He lost his stack against his fellow Dario Minieri. Cris hits top set on the turn with his pocket kings on a board 58TK. But Dario is hiding a straight draw with 67 and he hits with the river 4. Cris could not see it coming and he pays off Dario's all-in reraise.

Too bad, too bad...

WSOPE London: it's Blanco's day!

26/09/09 @ 07:58:08 am by Marco

Ready, set, go! WSOPE London Main Event just started and we have our Italian Champion, Cristiano Blanco, playing today.
Cristiano is on a hot run, with 3 final tables on his last 3 tournaments he played last week here in London at the Grosvenor Victoria.
"But this (WSOPE Main Event) is the real thing and I aim for the 4th Final Table in a row. I'm very happy and optimist".

Doyle Brunson himself started the day with the "shuffle up and deal". 144 players today.

Tomorrow we'll have our lovely Kim Wooka and our new Team Everest Member, the November Niner Antoine Saout, playing Day1B.

GO Cris!

Live The Dream is back!

15/09/09 @ 08:17:59 am by Rocio

September 21st sees Everest Poker launch the second installment of their most popular promotion ever, Live The Dream. Live The Dream offers 10 real poker players the chance to become sponsored professionals for a year with the chosen 10 travelling the world, playing in the biggest events and a $100,000 sponsorship deal to their name.

Everest Poker does not sponsor big name players but instead invests in their own players allowing them to develop and become professionals on the world stage in their own right. Last year saw three of the Live The Dream (Voitto Rintala, Steven van Zadelhoff, & Kim Wooka) become established members of the world poker circuit and as a result they were promoted to full members of Team Everest. If you want to be next on that list head to www.everestpokerdream.com

As with last year the best 200 players will come for a live final at the Palais Auersberg in Vienna in January for a weekend of poker and the unveiling of the final 10.

The 10 Live The Dream winners will represent Everest Poker at the best tournaments in the world including the World Series of Poker Main Event as well as over $30,000 in traveling expenses. The package totals $100,000 for each player offering potential winnings of over $1 billion!

This year players can qualify in three different ways: (i) Via tournament and Sit ‘n Go leader boards: (ii) Cash game leader boards, and: (iii) Direct entry. This way we are giving all types of players a fair shot at getting to the finale. Qualifications are running weekly from September 21st.

At the final itself players will be measured on a total of 100 points: 55 points for poker skills, 25 points will be given by the Everest Poker player community and the last 20 will be allocated by our jury based on live interviews in Vienna.
