Hand Recount Medley

07/09/09 @ 12:08:00 am by Nuno

Here are some recent hands your Everest Poker Qualifiers were involved in:

1.Nobuhiro Yabuuchi of Japan calls the $600 blind from early position, and two players call after him. A late position player then raises to $5,000 and Nobuhiro instantly pushes all in, while all other players fold, except for the raiser, who calls. The players are all in, and their hands are shown: Nobuhiro shows down Kh Qh, and his opponent has Kc Kd for a dominating hand.
FLOP: 4h 6h Js The flop gives our “Hiro” some hope, as he has flopped a flush draw, as well as a back-door straight draw.
TURN: 5s
RIVER: 6d, and Nobuhiro is eliminated.

2.Aasisdebaas raises to $2,000 pre-flop after building up a tight table image, but manages to get called by three players nonetheless.
FLOP: 4h 2h 4d
Aasisdebaas bets out $5,525 and gets one caller.
TURN: 2c Check, Check.
RIVER: 5s Check, Check.
Aasisdebaas mucks as his opponent shows down Ad 5d for two pair, fives and fours.

3.Wolf Welker, looking at a $2,000 raise on the button, decides to re-raise to $5,000 and is called by the raiser.
FLOP: 5d 2h Qs Wolf bets out $5,000 and his opponent calls.
TURN: 2c Check, Check.
RIVER: 6s The opponent, acting first, bets out $5,000 and Wolf insta-calls.
Wolf: As Kc, opponent: Kh Qd for the winning hand.
