More Everest Poker Qualifier Eliminations
Julien Lanne
Here are some recent Everest Poker Eliminations. It isn't all bad though, as these players did make the money:
Finishing in 268th place and taking home $2,769 is
Claude 'kaena13' Narcisse.
Finishing in 251st place and taking home $2,923 is
Julien 'skuff1818' Lanne
Finishing in 217th place and taking home $2,923 is
Antonio 'masteryowi' Maestro.
Finishing in 200th place and taking home $3,077 is
Julien 'Ace57' Andre
Team Everest Pro Kim 'IceBeer' Wooka Eliminated from Event 54
Here is Kim Wooka's Bustout hand from the $1500 NL event #54:
Finding herself shortstacked with few big blinds to work with in her stack, Wooka pushed all in. Her opponent thought long and hard and clearly was concerned that his hand might be dominated, but nonetheless made the call, showing 77.
Wooka then flipped up AK offsuit, and a classic race was on. A suspenseful flop of 4-Q-J hit the felt, giving Wooka numerous outs, including any A, K, 10, or running cards. Unfortunately, an anticlimactic 7 hit the turn, giving her opponent a set of trips, and leaving Wooka drawing dead to a 10. The river was a 4, and Wooka was eliminated by a full house, sevens over fours.
But...she's $3,500 richer!
Eric 'ericxx1' Knoedler Among Overall Chip Leaders!
Everest Poker German Qualifier Eric Knoedler has been making big moves all day, and has now not only overtaken the Everest Chip Leaderboard, but is 4th in chips overall!
This puts Eric in striking distance for the overall chip lead, and with only 235 players left, and the players all on the money bubble, we are excited to follow Eric as he narrows the gap between him and overall tournament chip leader Jon Christenson.
Current Everest Qualifiers Chip Stacks
Here is a quick snapshot from the Everest Qualifier Leaderboard:
Frank Muller: Interesting hand ends in a chop
Frank Muller raised 3,800 pre-flop. The big-blind raised him back, and Muller called.
FLOP: 6d-Qc-10c
Muller calls, and his opponent checks.
TURN: Ah, and everyone checks.
RIVER: Jd. Big bet and a Call.
Muller shows the strong hand with Ks Jh, but it’s only good enough to tie when the big blind shows AcKc.
Julien Andre Hand Replay
Seat 6 raises to 3500. Julien Andre calls.
FLOP: 4c 7s 5c
Julien Checks. Original raiser bets 5500.
Julien mucks AJo angrily into the muck. Original raiser shows QQ.
He may have been upset at not connecting with the flop, but has to be happy to see that he made the right decision.

Thibaut Durand Eliminated in 6th Place ($115,817)
Thibaut Durand is all in before the flop with Jh-7s and he is up against the Qd-7c of Steven Levy.
The board comes Ts-6s-3d-2s-Tc eliminating Durand from the tournament in 6th place.
Congrats Thibaut on a great run at the final table.
Team Everest Pro Kim Wooka doubles up

Kim Wooka's stack started to get a bit short, and she is not one to lay around and wait for the action to come to her, so she brought the action!
We picked up this hand preflop:
Kim Wooka moves all in short-stacked on the button over-the-top of a limper, and the limper calls after the blinds got out of the way.
Kim: K-T offsuit
Opponent: 5-5
Flop: 9-3-Q rainbow
Turn: Beautiful jack!!!
River: x
And Kim Doubles up and gets back into contention.
6 remain and Thibaut still in the hunt for WSOP gold in event 51

Play has been somewhat conservative to kickoff the final table of event 51, yet they have still found a way to eliminate 3 people.
With 6 players left, Thibaut is sitting on 1,310,000, currently in 5th place.
Sergej Barbarez Eliminated
Unfortunately, not too long after our last post, Sergej was eliminated in what must have been a massive pot...we will try and get the details for you to come.
German Soccer Legend Leading All Everest Qualifiers
Sergej Barbarez, known for his soccer skills moreso than his poker skills, has come to Event 54 to take on a leadership different from the green field he is used to playing on. Once captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, Sergej is currently chipping up everytime our Everest Poker Reporting team passes by his table.
Sergej is currently stacked at 27,000 chips, which is good for 3rd in the Everest Poker runners, and nearthe top of the overall tournament leaderboard.
We will keep you updated on this exciting athletes table exploits while we leave you with a bit of background of his historic soccer career:
Before he retired from international football on October 13, 2005, Barbarez was the captain and leader of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team.
On December 2, 2005, he announced his comeback to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team and play in the EURO 2008 qualifiers. He became captain of the team once again.
On May 17, 2006, he signed a two-year deal with Bayer Leverkusen.
On October 12, 2006, Sergej Barbarez officially stepped down from playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team.

Big Stack Kaj Emanuel chips up

Netherlands qualifier Kaj Emanuel has been involved in a majority of the pots over on table 41 of Event 54, here is a couple notable hands:
Kaj is seated in the SB. It is folded around to him, and he elects to raise the BB, who calls. Flop comes down Qh-Ac-2h, and Kaj his opponent both check. Turn is the Qd, and kaj bets out 3-quarters of the pot, and his opponent folds.
Very next hand, with Kaj on the button, seat 2 makes it 1200 with 150-300 blinds. Seat 3 calls, and Kaj calls on the button.
Flop: 4h-Qh-6d
Checked around.
Turn: 3d
Seat 2 bets out 1200, seat 3 calls, and Kaj also calls.
River: Ah
Seat 2 checks, Seat 3 fires 4100 into the pot, and Kaj and Seat 2 both fold. Seat 3 shows a bluff, pockets 5's and Kaj proceeds to raise and take down the next two pots.
Kaj has shown that he is not afraid to take control of this table, and we hope that his play will continue to yield positive results.
