Silently the “requim” of Andrew Lloyd Webber is playing in the back of my head. The choir of young boys highlights the passing of this beautiful event and fills my heart with sadness. I wonder if anyone can hear what I hear, feel what I feel. One thing is sure. Maybe they don’t feel the sadness of the event ending because they already scheduled attending a next one soon, but each and every player that attended this event was over the moon about the organization, the fantastic structure and great atmosphere.
At the end Jorge Gonzalez had to cave under the pressure of Miguel Angel Rodriguez.
It was an emotional finale. The way a finale should always be. Exciting to watch, ups and downs, some great strategy and a deserving winner.

Miguel Angel Rodriguez

Jorge Gonzalez
Congratulations Miguel Angel. You are taking 38000 euro home with you.

Unfortunately Claus Wendt, our Everest Poker qualifier had to leave the main event in 5th place.
He had K 10 and went all in pre-flop. His opponent called with pocket 3 (God knows why.) The flop delivered a second 3 and left Claus hanging for better. What a way to go Claus, what a way…

Claus confided that he was super happy with reaching 5th place since it was his first big live tournament. I’ll go “All-in” betting we’ll see Claus again.
...Maybe on one of the next SPT stops?
That went quickly…4 hours after the day 2 of the side event started we have a winner…and his name is Alexander zur Linden from Germany.

Congratulations Alexander, great stuff. Keep on playing like this and you’ll go far.
He was followed by:
2. Sergio Valero
3. Javier Salvador
4. Leo Truche
