Nobody can tell the story better than the player himself. We asked him to give us the inside scoop on the terrible turn of events. He put down the key hands from his notes to explain his early bust:

First level: blinds 25-50

Tight Italian guy makes it 150 to go in middle position I call 2 of the button with 56s : flop comes T7s4s, he bets 250 into 375 and I raise to 850 total. He calls.
Turn is an offsuit 5 he checks and I bet 1400 into 2100ish, he raises to 5k total, committing himself and I fold against a possible set even though I have tons of outs.
Down to 7k.
A few hands later, I get a free flop from the big blind with Q5 off against four limpers, flop comes 5d5h3s, small blind checks, I check, utg limper bets 100 into the 300 pot , overlimper late position calls, everyone folds to me and I make it 350 to go, utg calls, the other guy folds.
I put him on a small pocket pair or 45s, 56s
Turn is Ts I bet 650, utg calls.
River is 9s I bet 1400, utg raises to 3k total and I fishcall. He had me beat all the way with k5s and backdoored a flush.

Second level, blinds 50-100
I’m down to 3k.
I raise k9 in late position and find a good flop to give up on against three callers : J6s4s.

Third level, blinds 75-150
I’m shortstacked to 8 big blinds after folding a lot and I shove 83s on the button only to be called by both blinds. Great flop for me, AKQ rainbow, and I’m out at the beginning of level three .
