End of Day 1A: The Dutchies steal the cheese

10/03/09 @ 22:12:05 op Danny

Average stack is 25,000 chips
Blinds 300-600
Ante 75
EPT Dortmund by PokerStars

Two Everest players remain: Our very own Team Everest Poker player Krul and his Dutch colleague MrMister82.

Krul

MrMister82

MrMister82 ended Day 1A with 15,000 chips. The last level of the tournament he was moved from table to table which, according to him, explains the low chip count because he had no time to “read” his opponents.

Krul finished with a fantastic 42,300. He was able to double up with his second last hand. Well done kiddo.

The Italian Cristiano 'Lalanco' Blanco was the last to leave the tournament on Day 1A. Lalanco raised with 55 in his hands. A call and a fold later the flop showed 678. Lalanco used his pair and straight draw to go all in. A devious plan that would have worked if the opponent did not have pocket AA. Unfortunately the turn and river brought no relief.

The entire tournament Krul struggled to hold on. This shows poker can also have a happy ending for the persistent few even if the story was written in blood, sweat and tears.

Well done guys. Enjoy your well deserved day off tomorrow to start fresh again for Day 2 on Wednesday. Everybody at Everest Poker is cheering for you. The pompoms are ordered, the parade float parked round the corner.
