David went out early in level 12. He was small blind with pocket 10's. He went all-in pre flop and was called by the big blind with KK. With no help from the board, David was out.
Aaron also went out early in level 12. He was big blind with Q6. Everybody folded except the small blind, raising to 2,000 with A8. Aaron went all and the small blind called. The board read Q9885 and that was the end of the tournament for Aaron.
Both players played an excellent tournament, battling back from short stacks and standing up to some of the world's best pro's.
Day 2 began with 60 players, blinds of 600-1200 and average chip count of 47,000. We have two Everest Poker players still in the tournament.

David - 31,000

Aaron - 15,000
Our Team Everest player, Kim went out right before the end of level 6. She was short stacked and was looking to double up. Blinds were at 400, there were 3 limpers in the pot and Kim was big blind with pocket 6's. She moved all in with 4,000, the third position called with A10, A, 10 came on the flop and Kim was out.
Half way through level 6 our previous Everest Poker chip leader, Rasmus busted out. He lost most of his chips in a 20,000 pot when he went top 2 pair against a set.
The good news is Aaron, our Canadian, has doubled his stack. Aaron had 99 against AJ, he caught the set on the river and is now up to 9,400 in chips.
Kim is currently at 6,500 and David is steady with 7,000.
There are 108 players left in the tournament, blinds are at 200-400 and the chip average is 16,000.
At the start of level 5, there are 143 players left, blinds at 150-300 and average chip count of 13,000.
We still have 4 Everest Poker players left fighting it out for a coveted APT trophy :
Rasmus - 15,000
Kim - 11,000
David - 7,000
Aaron - 4,500
We're at the start of level 4, blinds are up to 100-200 and there are 162 players left in the tournament. Chip average is approximately 11,000, and APT has determined a total prize pool of $635,500.
We have 4 players left in the tournament:

David - 7,000

Aaron - 5,150
Sitting at the same table as David "Chino" Rheem, who finished 7th at the 2008 WSOP Main Event.

Rasmus - 14,000

Kim - 11,000
Nicolas went out at the beginning of level 3, he had Kings against a draw.
262 players have traveled from all over the world to the Dusit Thani hotel in Manila for the start of the second APT Season.
A slow Day 1A brought 80 players to the table, but Day 1B picked up with 186 in the game. Among them are 4 Everest Poker online qualifiers and our very own Icebeer, Kim Wooka all starting Day 1B.
Qualifiers:
David "Timoun" Hengenbach of France

Aaron "ShanghaiLad" Tearne our Canadian living in China

Rasmus "Melarvinzz" Akerblom of Sweden

Nicolas "Autapis" Vigne of France

Wooka "Icebeer" Kim
Level 1 started with blinds at 25-50 and 10,000 in chips.

248 poker players entered the arena of champions today to unleash their battling fury in order to reach first place worth 851,000 euro. At the coffee reunion Everest Poker organized for its players this morning, the Everest Poker players showed they were eager to meet the show down with equal eagerness.
Seated with 8 at a table, the 31 tables will face 8 levels of top level poker play. Top 64 will end up earning some cash. The others will for sure go home with a great story to tell and the pride of competing.
The tournament has just kicked into 2nd gear when Everest Poker player Daan 'krul' Slutter fell on the battle field of the brave. His pocket ‘66’ faced a pocket ‘AA’. The flop delivered a ‘6’, but joy showed too soon when the river showed an ‘A’.

Krul’s starting stack was 7,100 chips. The average was at 26,000 chips. All considering a wonderful achievement from Krul to reach day 2. Great job. You defended the Everest Poker colors fantasticly and can return home head held high.
Not long after Krul’s departure martinlemot lost his 22,000 chips and had to leave the tournament too. This year 200 poker players from all over Europe will head to the stunning coast of Sardinia at the Chia Laguna Resort and you could be one of them.
For a list of online qualifiers visit www.everestpoker.com but in the meantime here's a picture of the beaches of the Chia Laguna Resort - see you there!
Team Everest player, Cristiano Blanco, who finished 2008 with three final tables in as many months qualified for the PCA Bahamas to make sure the cold snap in Europe does not affect him. The event is taking place now at the world famous Atlantis Hotel.

Sadly, he went out at the end of the first day:
He was above average when after a raise in middle position, he re-raised from the button with AK suited (clubs) & his opponent called. The Flop gave K 4 8 with two clubs.
His opponent bet, Cris pushed all-in & his opponent called showing AA.
Turn and river with no clubs, and our man is gone.
Better luck next time.
2009 looks set to be a great year for poker fans at Everest Poker:
i) There is still time to qualify for the International Poker Cup (Jan 15-18) in Austria - where you can represent your country against players from all over the world & stay in a 5-star hotel
ii) You can also still qualify for EPT Deauville (Jan 21-25)
iii) Our brand new VIP Summit Club is now also in full swing - where you can convert up to $5,000 CASH from your points and recieve bonuses of up to 750%!
