St. Maarten Open, Day 2

12/03/08 @ 05:03:57 pm by Ken

24 players started today with an average of 33,000 chips. Hubert, Fari and Thorsten were in on the only three tables.

At the beginning of day 2, Fari was holding A10 being the big blind, all players fold and player on the cut off calls holding 89h. The flop came Ah, 4h, 5s, Turn 4c and River 5h giving the other player a flush, Fari checks, the other player bets 4,000 chips after the river and Fari calls. This hand left him quite short stacked.

During level 8, Fari had 10J of clubs and the flop came 4c, 9c, 4h, he had 3,000 chips and a player with KK in first position made a bet. Everybody folds but Fari calls all in and the next card was another 4 and the river a 7. The other player got a full house and that was the end of the tournament for our British player Fari.

Hubert was holding a pair of deuces with short stacked and in the button. He bets 2,000 preflop and gets called by the player in 5th position. He was holding a KJ and the flop brought another jack. The river and the turn didn't help and Hubert was out.

At the beginning of level 9 with blinds 400 - 800, Thorsten, our German player, got a full house of queens over nines while holding 88 and he gets called by a player with J9, the turn gave the other player another J giving him a full house Jacks over nines leaving our last Everest Poker player out of the tournament.
