Cristiano is HOT!

08/12/08 @ 09:51:44 am by Ed

Everest Poker's first ever sponsored player - Cristiano Blanco - is on fire at the moment and heads to EPT Prague later this week in the form of his life.

Cris reached the final table of the Dusk Til Dawn Anniversary Cup in Nottingham, England yesterday, coming 5th and taking home £11,000. 186 players started the tournament.

This is his THIRD final table in as many months as he was in similar positions in both the Irish Winter Festival & The Italian Championships.

Another tourney, another final table.

Cris also holds the rercord of being the highest placed Italian in an EPT tournament which, when you bear in mind that both EPT Barcelona & EPT Budapest had more Italians represented than any other nation is a mighty feet.

Cris goes to EPT Prague this week and there are few players in better form than our man. Good luck, Cris.

St. Maarten Open, Day 2

12/03/08 @ 05:03:57 pm by Ken

24 players started today with an average of 33,000 chips. Hubert, Fari and Thorsten were in on the only three tables.

At the beginning of day 2, Fari was holding A10 being the big blind, all players fold and player on the cut off calls holding 89h. The flop came Ah, 4h, 5s, Turn 4c and River 5h giving the other player a flush, Fari checks, the other player bets 4,000 chips after the river and Fari calls. This hand left him quite short stacked.

During level 8, Fari had 10J of clubs and the flop came 4c, 9c, 4h, he had 3,000 chips and a player with KK in first position made a bet. Everybody folds but Fari calls all in and the next card was another 4 and the river a 7. The other player got a full house and that was the end of the tournament for our British player Fari.

Fari

Hubert was holding a pair of deuces with short stacked and in the button. He bets 2,000 preflop and gets called by the player in 5th position. He was holding a KJ and the flop brought another jack. The river and the turn didn't help and Hubert was out.

Hubert

At the beginning of level 9 with blinds 400 - 800, Thorsten, our German player, got a full house of queens over nines while holding 88 and he gets called by a player with J9, the turn gave the other player another J giving him a full house Jacks over nines leaving our last Everest Poker player out of the tournament.

Thorsten

EPEC Qualifier in Bologna: a local celebrity is the winner!

02/12/08 @ 05:59:55 am by Marco

With qualifiers last week in Hungary, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy the EPEC Live Qualifier tour stopped in Bologna, in a lively night club right next door to the oldest University in the world.

After a generous Italian buffet, the tournament kicked off with knocked-out players able to join the dance party in the club, the hottest spot in Bologna.

The entertaining final table gave us two winners: Emanuele Cocchi, a young student, and a local TV celebrity, Jack Bonora. Jack is the host of several TV football shows on the regional channel and he's also the presenter of the Poker Sportivo Show, the first Italian talk show dedicated to Texas Hold'Em. Now he will join us in Sardinia for the EPEC Finale not only as a reporter but as a player too!
