Carlos `Charlii1` Miranda is out!!

30/10/08 @ 09:44:34 am by Ed

Everest Poker had only 1 player remaining in the tournament, that is Carlos 'charlii1' Miranda, an EVP Qualifier.

He had 8300 in chips, but with 400/800 and 200 ante it was always going to be tough.

Unfortunately he was sent to the rail in an unbelievable hand, when he held AA and Sorel Mizzi, the player before him raised to 5000 preflop. Carlos called. Irt all went down like this:

Carlos: AA

Mizzi: 9 10

Flop:
A Q K

Turn:
7

River:
J

So Charlii1`s set of aces was beaten by the straight of Mizzi. Thats what most call a bad beat. He was out on the 150th place.

Karim 'LAFORCE' Lehoussine busts out

29/10/08 @ 04:06:16 pm by Ed

Karim was unfortunately eliminated with two pair. The player across the table raised him 5000 (basically for all his chips) on the river. After thinking long and hard, Karim decided his 2 pair would cut it, but it wasn`t enough against the opponent`s straight.

Karim:

Karim and his opponent shook hands and Karim left with a smile on his face:

...and the advice pays off!

29/10/08 @ 03:47:27 pm by Ed

Carlos 'charlii1' Miranda has just doubled up through a local player, when his raise was reraised, he moved all in.

Carlos`s AK was against AQ and nothing came to the board, so Carlos is up to 23 000 with 75 minutes remaining on the clock from Day1.

The "Be patient!" advice of Karim in the break has finally paid off!

Blanco: The Unstoppable Cash Machine

28/10/08 @ 07:31:55 am by Ed

Cristiano Blanco is on one of those streaks that everybody dreams of - even when things go wrong it turns out great.

Cristiano was caught out by the time changes in Ireland after cashing in at the Irish Masters and missed his flight to EPT Budapest which starts today.

Slightly dejected but with cash in his pocket Cristiano enetered a 500 Euro side event in Ireland. He made the final table - eventually finishing 5th - and taking home another 6,300 Euro.

His current form book reads: 3 tournaments, 2 final tables & 3 cash wins.

Awesome Cristiano, well done.

...and he will be going to the tournament in dangerously good form.

SPT ARANJUEZ II: DREAMS COME TRUE

19.10.08 @ 14:24:59 por Paloma

Sometimes dreams really do come true!

The winner of the SPT in Aranjuez was Thomas Gerardy, from France, who arrived in Madrid as an Everest Poker qualifier.

He started playing in an online satellite and won a $2,500 package to come and play in Spain.

When asked about his expectations in the first day he said “Everybody comes to these tournaments with the illusion that is possible to win, of course I knew that would be very, very difficult”, when we started the final table we asked the same question to the Parisian Engineer and he said; “I’m the player with least chips, only 15% of the table total, so I will probably be the first one to leave…”. Well Thomas, you were wrong!

After some good moves and some amazing all-ins he turned the table upside down and he was chip leader after 2 hours!

But the story won’t be complete if we don’t mention that another Everest Poker Qualifier, Marcus Eckhardt from Germany was on the final table too.

Marcus came in second after the heads up with Thomas and was also an online qualifier with Everest Poker.

At the end they both had a great weekend and a very profitable one too.
Congratulations to Thomas and Marcus!

See you in Marbella for the next SPT, go check our satellites on www.everestpoker.com

It's the End of the WPT Niagara Falls for the Everest Poker Team

14/10/08 @ 04:00:29 pm by Katie

Steven fell out of the tournament early when he moved all in with A5 suited against Eric Seidel with QT suited. Steven was going for the flush but came up short on the board. Seidel took the hand with 10's.

Good job Steven. We'll be looking for you at the Master's Classics in Amsterdam!

End of Day 2 and We have 1 Player Standing

14/10/08 @ 10:26:37 am by Katie

At the end of Day 2 of the WPT Nigara Falls we have one player out and one looking for that final table.

Daan went out early in the day. He went all in with 4's vs AT. There was a T on the turn and that was the end for Daan. He finished 230th. Look for Daan next at the Master's Classics in Amsterdam.

Steven is one of the 99 out of 454 players left in the tournament. He is going into Day 3 below the 137,576 chip average with 69,600. Blinds are currently 1500/3000 with the Ante at 400. We wish Steven the best of luck!

End of Day 1B and the Dutchies are still in the Game

12/10/08 @ 06:52:10 am by Katie

As Day 1B comes to a close at the beautiful Fallsview Casino, we say goodbye to Kim and good luck to Steven and Daan.

Kim fell out of the tournament about 15 minutes before the end of the final round. She went all in with AK and ended up losing to her opponents quad 10's. It was a day of tough luck for Kim, but we wish her all the best at WPT Foxwoods in November.

Steven and Daan are still in the tourney with 34,000 and 18,000 in chips respectively; slightly below the 46,571 average.

Things were heating up with 300/600 blinds and 75 ante, but Steven had an momentous moment at the table when he went all in with a set of fives against a set of aces. Steven caught quads on the board and took the hand. The room exploded when the hand was revealed as the odds of catching quads is 1 in 407!

Last Round of the Night for Day 1B

11/10/08 @ 07:42:41 pm by Katie

It's round 5 of the WPT Niagara Falls and there are 118 players left including Steven, Daan and Kim. With blinds raised to 300/600 and the average chip count 41,000, Daan and Kim are looking to go big or go home this round as they have 18,000 and 11,000 in chips receptively.

Steven is still going strong with 54,000 in chips; 13,000 chip average.

End of Round 2 at the WPT Niagara Falls

11/10/08 @ 05:05:27 pm by Katie

We've come to the end of Round 2 of the WPT Niagara Falls and the Everest Poker Team is still in the game. With the chip count averaging 32,600 our players are holding on strong; Kim with 25,000, Daan with 17,500 and Steven with 37,000.

There are some familiar faces at the tables today Gus Hansen and the Robin Hood of Poker, Barry Greenstein are among the 150 players (out of 163) still in the tournament.

We will keep you up to date with the progress of the players and of the celebrity tournament held on October 12th but in the meantime this is a taste of things to come at the start of 6 'Day 1s'.

Blanco, Blanco, Blanco

06/10/08 @ 04:22:52 am by Ed

Cristiano Blanco - the first member of Team Everest - decided to play in the Italian Championships in San Remo last week rather than EPT London.

Being a famours figure in Italy this was a risky decision as many players want to be the one to bust him out but he was spot on and made the final table yesterday.

Cristiano was eventually 5th in the 220,000 euro tournament taking home 22,000 himself.

Also on the final table was Giuseppe Caciolo the Everest Poker qualifier for 'Play Live in Italy'. In total three Everest Poker players were at the Italian Championships with two on the final table and Simone 'Babbolone' Coppari a very respectable 38th.

Well done lads.

If you want to become the best play with us - we believe good poker teams are developed - not bought!

MADRID (10.03.08).

The SPANISH POKER TOUR presented by Everest Poker, announces the Portuguese General Inspection of Games has canceled the 5th stage of SPT in Vilamoura, only 2 weeks before the event was set to begin.

The refusal for permission for the tournament stems from previous, unresolved problems the Casino of Vilamoura had with the Gaming Commission.

The dates of the tournament will remain October 16th to October 19th. The new tournament location will be in Madrid at the Gran Casino of Aranjuez.

You can find the updated venue information on the SPT website (www.thespanishpokertour.com) as well as hotel recommendations and scheduling information.

Bernd & J-P Exit EPT London, Gianfranco stays

02/10/08 @ 04:18:03 pm by Ed

We have two more casulaties & one man standing as day 1B enters the final phase of the PokerStars event.

Germany's Bernd 'Nheo' Gleissner went out fighting and was unlucky to lose with a Full House: 88866 against another Full House 888QQ. bad luck indeed.

Jean-Baptise is also out holding 7-7 and raise after a re-raise he went All-In.

His opponent held QQ and there was nothing on the board.

The last Everest Poker player left his Gianfranco Di Gregorio from France. The man who missed his train & was moved to Day 1B has proved resilient and carries an average stack into the last session.

Gianfranco - our last man standing - we salute you.

Romain Conquered

02/10/08 @ 11:46:25 am by Ed

Team Everest player Romain 'blindmaster' Despres is out of EPT London, in association with PokerStars.

Frenchman, Romain, went All-In with AQ and was followed by a player with KK.

Nothing on the board left our man out in the cold of London's Edgware Road.

However, our three qualifiers are going great guns with Gianfranco 'GPF57' Di Gregorio, Bernd 'Nheo' Gleissner & Jean-Baptiste 'Letcheck' Boni leading the Everest Poker charge.

Come on boys, Everest Poker needs you...Day 2 for all of you (please).

Diamonds are NOT a girls best friend

02/10/08 @ 11:39:02 am by Ed

Our Japanese heroine gets bitten by what, until now, had been thought of as a girl's best friend: diamonds.

Wooka Kim has 9-10 diamonds. The flop comes; A-3-4 ALL DIAMONDS!

Obviously, she raises and is re-raised!

Both the River and Turn are diamonds too and both players are All-In. Wooka's opponent had the K of diamonds with an unsuited deuce!

Wooka is off to Leicester Square to watch her friend in the final table at WSOPE.

EPT London, in association with PokerStars.

Morpheo bites the dust

01/10/08 @ 05:28:52 pm by Ed

The last of our intrepid Day 1A players at EPT London, in association with PokerStars, has left the building.

Spain's Morhpeo could not continue his country's amazing run of sporting brilliance and take the title in London;

Our man went All In with pocket 10s and was followed with A-J and the extra A came on the baord to see our man depart.

Five more Everest Poker pioneers start tomorrow, namely:

From Team Everest: Romain 'blindmaster' Despres and Japanese genius Wooka 'icebeer' Kim.

They are joined by online qualifiers Gianfranco Di Gergorio, Bernd Gleissner & Jean-Baptiste Boni.

Good luck guys & girls.

01/10/08 @ 03:49:08 pm by Ed

'Ciam' our hopeful from France playing in his first big live tournament has gone out after having a great run and a great day;

He had 5-5 against A-A and nothing helped on the flop, turn or river.

Morpheo is our last man standing on Day 1A with five starting tomorrow.

Morpheo, cashed in his first tournament as a Team Everest Player - the Grand Finale of the EPT in Monte Carlo.

Go Morpheo.

Voitto Goes

01/10/08 @ 03:24:27 pm by Ed

Voitto, Finland's base playing rock God, is out of EPT London, in association with PokerStars.

He made the final table of a WSOP side event taking home $57,000 and then came 17th at EPT Barcelona but the run is at an end.

He went All-In with J-10 Spades and was called by 4-5 unsuited!!

Two spades on the flop...would you believe the only card to follow was a 4, he lost against the odds.

Ciam & Morpheo continue and 5 more start tomorrow...

First break: Andreas is unlucky, other 3 going well

01/10/08 @ 11:31:47 am by Ed

EPT London, in association with PokerStars, Day 1A is well underway and Andreas was our only, and unlucky, casulaty;

With 77 he raised, pre-flop and re-raised when the flop came down 9-7-6. When he was called, Andreas went All-In.

His opponent, a fellow Swede, was only holding 9-8 but he lucked out with a 10 on the River to get his Straight.

Bad beat, Andreas. There will be other days.

The others - with the average at 10,600 - stand as follows:

Pablo 'morpheo' is on 11,700
Emeric 'Ciam' has 16,050
...and Voitto 'RandomEyes' who has cashed at EPT Bareclona & the WSOP is sitting pretty with 21,000
