Update 15.52 pm
Pablo is out in 28th place. He went all in on the flop after a reraise from Luca Pagano when the board showed J-J-10. As Luca called he was already in big pain as Pablo showed 7-2 and Luca Pagano called him in a bluff with 8-J. Drawing dead Pablo is leaving the table with 42,100 Euros in his first big event ever.

EPT Monte Carlo Grand Finale brought to you by Pokerstars

2008-04-12 @ 06:20:57 by Olaf

Update 1.25 am level 7

Game stopped for today with 180 players left. 4 Everest players survived. The avergae chip stack is at 32,000. Stefanie is still in with 30,000, Pablo with 24,000, Simone with 27,000 and Steven with 24,000.
We will see them again on day 2 and we will be back tomorrow with Day 1B.

Update 10pm - level 5

Cristiano and Machou are out...
Cristiano had over 50k in chip and holding AA, after a raise and a raise on the flop, the other player move all in and show a flush draw and got lucky on the river

Machou loose with a full with KK vs. a full versus a AA...

Update 9pm

Krul - Daan - is out: KK vs. AA, Daan was holding the AA but the KK on the river shattered his very nice playing day... very GG Daan

Update 8pm, level 4

We have two more players out, Fernando and Otto.

Otto was running bad and his pockets 9 didn't stand versus the AA of his opponent finishing to take away hist last chips.

Fernando lost his chip versus an opponent who believed (with right)that his 3-7 was good enough (and was right), Fernando was chasing a flush and an open straight but the board didn't help him and the pocket 7 of his opponent was good enough to beat him.

Maria is still doing well - still having good conversation with Raymer.

Machou is holding strong, and his table got very difficult with 2 famous dutch players : Rob Hollink and Marcel Luske

Steven and Dann - who are at the same table than Annette15 are in dinner break.

Update 18-58h

While half of the field is on dinner break Cristiano Blanco eliminated German Katja Tharter. Cristiano flopped in the Big Blind a two pair with K-7 and it was good enough against the continuation bets of the German that showed a pair of Kings with A-K at the showdown. Well played Cristiano.

We already lost two players. Voitto Rintala had no chance with a set of aces against a straight. Shortly after that he lost his last 3,000 chips with 10-10 running into A-A.
Romain Despres is out as well. His flush with King high was not good enough against Johnny Lodden Flush with A high.

Start of day 1A:
The EPT Grand Finale brought to you by Pokerstars is starting today!! many famous faces are here to compete and indeed the Everest Poker Team is present: 10 of our Life the dream winners are starting today. Fernando Festas, Stefanie Bergener, Pablo Martinez, Voitto Rinatala, Otto Richard, Romain Despres, Machou Ghaouti, Simone Coppari, Steven van Zadelhoff and Daan Slutter (who are starting at the same table - 37) are hitting the tables today. Tomorrow Kim Wooka is following as well as the online qualifiers Simon Faure (teamvtc - France), Anthony Gil (TIDUS29 - Switzerland), Cristiano Bruschi (Contoast - Italy) and Julien Sallin (julle - Switzerland). The Everest Team is completed by Cristiano Blanco, Maria Maceiras who's sitting in front of Greg Raymer and Leroy Soesmann that are starting today as well. We will keep you updated.

Smiling and relax Maria who's been chatting with Greg Raymer:

Steven out in 52nd position

03/04/08 @ 08:41:14 pm by Marco

Steven van Zadelhoff cashes here at the EPT Sanremo, finishing in the 52nd position. We have no more Everest Poker players in the game, but all of them enjoyed the week here: a beautiful card room, great weather and excellent food offered by Casino Sanremo!

03/04/08 @ 04:13:38 pm by Marco

... and of course he's in the money.

Evert Jan Dondergoor. EPT SanRemo

Evert is the bubble boy. Again...

03/04/08 @ 03:56:30 pm by Marco

The history repeats itself. In Warsaw it was Cristiano, in Sanremo is Evert Jan Dondergoor to bust exactly on the bubble, in 72nd position.
He pushes all-in on the turn with a King high flush draw, and he gets called by an opponent with a top pair. He has 2 overcards and the flush draw, but a blank hits on the river and Evert is out. The floor cheers, and Evert is interviewed by the Dutch television.
Nice job anyway for this calm and polite guy at his first EPT experience.

Steven and Evert on the stairway to money

03/04/08 @ 01:51:03 pm by Marco

Steven van Zadelhoff and Evert Jan Dondergoor are still in the game when the players head for the dinner break in this day2 of EPT Sanremo. There are 92 players left, and 70 will finish in the money.
Steven has 101.100, Evert is short stacked with 44.000. After his successful casting in Vienna, Steven is living another dream here in the Italian Riviera...
Evert, who qualified online on Everest Poker, is waiting for his moment to double up and sail safely through the bubble.

GO STEVEN, GO EVERT!!

3 Everest Poker players make it to SanRemo EPT Day2

03/04/08 @ 09:14:37 am by Marco

Steven van Zadelhoff, Evert Jan Dondergoor and Heinz-Peter Bock are the Everest Poker survivors of the two combined Day1 here at the EPT Sanremo, the event presented by PokerStars.
Steven has a nice stack to play with, 54.600; Evert is in perfect average with 31.000, Heinz-Peter is short with just 8.000. But he had the nice satisfaction to win two nice pots from Todd Brunson.
208 players will return to the action today. The TV stage has made his appearance under the Casino Sanremo luxurious chandeliers, and we hope that our players will find their way to the spotlights.

Cristiano is out, but Leroy is still in

02/04/08 @ 10:58:39 am by Marco

Cristiano Blanco was eliminated yesterday during the 7th level of play. He will talk about his fate on his blog. But just to recap, he was down to 5k and he managed to climb up to 20k before the 5th level. Then he lost most of his chip stack when he ran into Aces twice.
His last fatal hand, with 8k was a typical coin flip with 66 against AK of the italian player Giampiero Valentini. Board gave no help to our player, and he was sent to the rail.

Leroy Soresman was included in the day 1a list of players by mistake. We were worried for his no-show, but we're pleased to inform all his dutch supporters that he's playing right now in day 1b.

We also have the final figure of the attendance at this Sanremo EPT: 361 players today, plus 337 yesterday, for a staggering total of 698 players. The director, Thomas Kremser, announced: "We had to cap to 700 to keep the structure of a 4-day event. Without this limitation, this would have been a tournament with 800-900 players".

Big field in SanRemo, Everest Poker players still in the hunt

02/04/08 @ 08:51:51 am by Marco

It's summer in the Italian Riviera. Blue skies, palm trees and the sea from the Sanremo Casino windows. This first Italian EPT brought to you by Pokerstars is already a favourite for most players. It's because of the city, the grand old-fashioned casino athmosphere, the excellent food and of course the huge field of over 700 players that flocked to this event. This will build one of the largest prizepool in the EPT history, and our Everest Poker players are still in the hunt.

We've lost many of them in the furious day1a action, but two players made it to day2.

It's Steven van Zadelhoff, one of the Live the Dream recent winners, with 54.600, and Evert Jan Dondergoor with 34.100, in perfect average.
97 of the 337 registered players of day1a passed to day2. And today we expect at least 350 more players. Exact figures, prizepool and prizes will be announced later by the tournament director Thomas Kremser.
We'll keep you posted, with some pictures of the venue and our players.
