The Last Frenchman Falls

10/27/07 @ 09:47:50 pm by Julien

Frederick has left the building. We are left with two Germans at the end of Avalanche 2007 who will now fight it out for the $233,000 top prize.

Frederick called all-in with KQ but Matthias had AK and enjoyed another A on the flop.

MrGerin Leaves

10/27/07 @ 09:23:59 pm by Julien

Original chip leader MrGerin from France left in fourth place with $74,000. Frederick went all-in from the button and Stefan (MrGerin) called. Frederick had A10 and MrGerin AK - the river went in favour of Ferderick with a 10.

FINAL THREE: two from Germany & one from France.

Chip count latest

10/27/07 @ 09:08:33 pm by Julien

Frank (GER) 260,900
Ferderick (FR) 155,600
Matthias (GER) 118,700
Stefan (FR) 63,600

Eric Goes

10/27/07 @ 08:50:18 pm by Julien

Our Canadian has left the tournament with a very respectable $53,000. In a head-to-head with former chip leader Mr Gerin, Eric went all-in with A9 and Gerin had A10. The flop showed J22 but with a 10 on the turn Gerin was control. The river did unveil a 9 for Eric but the damage was done.

Just four to go as the boat sails on.

The Flying Dutchman Has Flown

10/27/07 @ 08:42:46 pm by Julien

Hubert (cowboy99) was our 5th casualty netting $42,400 in the process and leaving this fantastic final with 6 players. Both the French & the Germans have two players left and our longest traveller, Eric from Victoria, Canada remains too.

Norway Falls

10/27/07 @ 07:58:54 pm by Julien

Our Norwegian player, Raul, has left the Avalanche party leaving 6 players at the table. He was short stacked for sometime and enjoyed a couple of all-in wins before defeat crept up on him.

Nevertheless, he has over $30,000 dollars to his name as the competition rolls on.

2nd Break - 2nd Chip Count

10/27/07 @ 06:47:49 pm by Julien

The latest update on the chip count shows a slight turnaround - Mr Gerin is no longer the leader:

1 drooppy: 148300
2 MrGerin: 147200
3 Cowboy99: 128500
4 fsn1: 79700
5 flpro: 65900
6 neziard: 47000
7 intuitionNEW: 18600

We will update at the next elimination.

...and another one goes

10/27/07 @ 06:02:22 pm by Julien

Our only female player - Ann left us after going head to head with the chip leader Mr Gerin - but having survived this long takes with her over $20,000. Not bad for a first live tournament.

The show goes on and we are now into the very big money with seven players, plenty of time on a ship in the night.

More news very soon!

Two go

10/27/07 @ 05:31:19 pm by Julien

After a slow start we have two players leave the table in quick succession:

marcus105 moved all-in wih pocket 8s and was called by neziard with 99 and no help on the flop left the Frenchman (marcus105) out but still taking home $13,500!

Two hands later difab moved all-in with TT and was called by cowboy99 with AA and so was gone also with a cheque for $18,500.

With things now well in the way - we will be back with an update at the next big drama.

    EPT BADEN CLASSIC 2007

    09.10.07 @ 10:24:03 par Sandrine

A total of 282 players entered the €8,000 No Limit Texas Hold'em tournament from 32 countries, creating a prize pool of €2,143,200 (top prize of €670,800).

4 Everest Poker Players were in course but none of them made day 3: the 2 Germans player Cayannes and MrWS, the French memorax and our Italian player Cristiano.

Here’s a quick summary of their adventures:

    Day 1:

MrWS is out in position 265 at level 2 with blinds 50-100. He lost a big hand at the beginning and never came back into the tournament being small stack all the time.

Cristiano stayed over average for a while then lost some pots. With 4500 chips left, he’s on the big blind; a player on early position raise, Cristiano goes all in get call by the player:
Cristiano had 6-6 and the other player has 9-9. No help on the board. Cristiano is out in place 168.

Early in the tournament, Cayannes lost pocket As against a set jacks and is small stack with 3000 but she succeeded to maintain a 3200 chips stack to finish day 1

Memorax had a very steady day and maintained his chips stack above average. He finished day 1 with 14 000.

    Cayannes and Memorax ,

    MrWS,

    Day 2:

We are now at level 7 with 200-400 blinds and antes 50. Cayannes is very short stack; she decided to go all in with As-Q suited. A player called her with 6-6. Queen on the flop gave hope but another 6 on the river was the end for her first live tournament. She is out in 148 position.

Memorax finished the tournament in 89 position. He was short stack and pushed with AS-7 and got called from As-Q.
