The Everest Poker European Cup is back for its second year

04/25/07 @ 02:16:11 pm by Sandrine

The Everest Poker European Cup– back for its second year, and bigger and better than before! Don’t miss your chance to represent your country and win your share of a €100,000 prize pool, all for free!

Last year, this Tournament brought together 100 of the best amateur poker players for a €50,000 freeroll in Barcelona. This year, we have made the event bigger and better, by doubling the amount of finalists, doubling the prize pool to €100,000.

Just like last year, all qualification Tournaments are free, giving all poker enthusiasts a chance to win their share of a huge prize pool and a free poker weekend with fellow Everest Poker players.

200 players from eligible European countries will each win a spot in the finale by qualifying through our free online and live qualifications. These qualification Tournaments will run from May to August.

Each qualifying player will receive a prize package valued at €1,100. The €1,100 prize package includes a seat in the Everest Poker European Cup worth €500, three nights of hotel accommodations worth €300 and €300 (US$390) credited to your Everest Poker account for travel expenses. (Everest Poker will book the hotel accommodations for each player).

You can qualify via Online Tournament or via live qualification Tournaments

For more info on how to participate, please check the following link:

Online Tournaments:

Each country’s Online Tournaments take place at each week on the same day at the same time from May through August.

For example, the All Europe Online Tournaments run every Friday @ 19:00 GMT. Weekly satellites lead to the Online Qualifier on the last Friday of each month, where 5 seats to our EPEC finale will be awarded. Players must win their entry in the Online Qualifier through one of the weekly satellites.

In addition, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom will have country-specific weekly satellites and a monthly Online Qualifier. See the table below for the dates and times of these Tournaments.

Greece, Finland, Hungary and Poland will simply have 2 Online Qualifiers each. Players from these countries may register directly for the Online Qualifier.

UK satellites: every Monday at 19h00 GMT
Satellites open to all Europe: every Friday at 19h00 GMT

Torneo di Poker Casino La Perla NovaGorica, Slovenia

04/24/07 @ 02:24:57 pm by Sandrine

Last weed end, 12 Everest Poker players participated to the Torneo di Poker.
116 players in total participated to this new poker tournament, the Prize Pool was over 160K euros, and the 1st 18 first positions were in the money.

It’s the Spanish player Jose Luis de Navarro who win this Tournament and won over 54k

The best Everest Poker performance was for Cristiano (Lalanco1) from Italy. Remember him? He finished 2nd at the EPT Dortmund. After finishing the first day in the money in the last 18 players remaining, he finished 4th in this Tournament and lost with J9 suited. He was very short stack and had to call but nothing came for him and he finished 4th. He goes with 12 000 euros!

Here are player's last hands:

The first player to be out was a French player. Paul (anlau) had QJ and raised as SB. Only the BB called and the flop was T88. Check- check. The turn was a 2 and he put ¾ of the pot raised immediately by his opponent. He called and the river was a 9, giving him the straight. He bet the pot and was raised all-in by his opponent. He called and the Big Blind showed TT and a full house.

Ramon (Monaz) from Netherlands finished 100th and lost with AQ against JQ. He raised preflop and was called by one player. The flop came with J high and all hearts. He got the Ace of heart. He checked-raised all-in his opponent’s bet, and no heart or Ace came on the turn and river.

Jean-Francois (banzai57), from France, finished 90th and lost with AQ against 44 on a flop A4T. Check of both players on the flop, he bet the turn and was called. He bet the river and was committed after the raise of his opponent. He called and saw the trips of the other player.

Martijn (Panetierre) from Netherlands finished 77th and lost with QQ against JJ, raised re-raised preflop. The flop came J55, he bet and was raised all-in. He called and saw the Full house of his opponent.

Sylvain (Sylva33) from France lost in 70th position with AK against QQ all in preflop. The flop came with a K first, followed by a Jack and the third card of the flop was a Q No help turn and river

Lars (RASLLL) from Netherlands, lost with A4 against AT all in preflop and finished 66th . He decided to raise all in after a standard raise by the button. The button called after several minutes of thinking. No improvement.

Francky (frenkeh) from Netherlands lost in 45th position after putting all in preflop with JJ. He was called by A4 who found an ace on the turn.

Manuel (topica) from Italy finished at 43th position and tried to steal a pot with 28 and was called by AJ, no help. He was short stack and the blinds were very high.

Jonathan (poketjoe) from Netherlands finished 35th and lost with QQ against AK all in preflop and a K on the river kicked him out.

Tommy (Musko1), from Sweden who won the 100k guaranteed several months ago, did a very good Tournament and finished 34th after calling the all-in of his opponent with TT. His opponent had A9. A 9 came on the flop and an ace on the river…

Mathieu (tieutieu31), from France finished 32th made also a very good Tournament for his first live experience. He lost with T7 of diamonds. He was Big blind and the Small Blind completed. The flop came KK9. Check by the small blind, and as Tieutieu was short stack, he pushed all-in and was immediately called by the small blind who showed 99 for a fullhouse on the flop.
