Everest Poker organized the first ever team poker event involving Scandinavian players during the final of the Nordic Summit on Saturday 24th February 2007. The 10-man Danish team was crowned winner of the team tournament, and in the individual tournament, Norwegian player Tore Nilsen won the biggest share of the Nordic Summit prize pool by going home with 6,000$.
Everest Poker players from Denmark, Norway and Sweden had qualified through satellites in January on Everest Poker for a seat at the Nordic Summit finale in Barcelona where 30 players – 10 Swedes, 10 Danes and 10 Norwegians – formed three national teams. One player from each country team sat at one of 10 tournament poker tables and was able to consult with team members during a three-minute pause throughout the game. The exceptional skill of the Danish players as well as a marked team spirit, allowed the Danish team to win the Nordic Summit Team Trophy. A full half of the players at the final table were Danes.
A happy Danish team:
Consulting time,

The event went on to decide an overall winner of the tournament with the finalists from each 3 tournament tables pitting their wits at a 10-player final table. Norwegian player and Marcel Luske lookalike Tore Nilsen was the crowned winner of the Nordic Summit trophy.

With three players remaining at the final table, Danish player Bjørn Nielsen, with a stack of around 13,000, went all in with A6, to which Norwegian player Tore Nilsen (stack of around 19,000) called with A7. Flop: 8AJ, turn: 9, river: 7. Exit Bjørn Nielsen.
